Angel Christmas single........Any similar stories?

Hi,

With all the talk of Pearl jam's 20th birthday got me reminiscing about how I came upon Pearl Jam which in turn got me thinking about the Angel Christmas single...................here is my little story about I got it

Remember those cards that used to come with an album about joining mailing lists or becoming a fan club member???
I filled one out to become a member of the fan club...........as far as I can remember I got something back about membership fees. Being 14yrs old and having no money I know i didn't do anything further with this.
Months later could have been even up to a year later I got a padded envelope in the post......to my utter delight when I opened it it was the Angel Christmas single.........there was nothing else with it........nothing about where it had come from, it was like winning the lottery!!!! I was puzzled! I never received anything else from the fan club. It was another year i'd say before I got to listen to it because I didn't know anyone with a turn table...............but It was worth waiting for when I did get to listen to it!!

Is there anyone else out there who had the same experience?

angel was my first xmas single as well..it was stunned when we got them every year...
see modern technology doesnt make everything go faster wheres last years.lol.i blame the web for everyone moaning about it being late now days..

back then you just didnt know who had got them...

the new singles will be landing any day soon and we will all know in moments.
