I was in Memphis. You never want to go to any concert where the singer walks out and says "I have laryngitis but we're gonna do this anyway" before the first song. He really should've postponed or something. The crowd kinda reminded me of an Ed solo show with people screaming stuff between all the songs. Cool poster though.

He has laryngitis? Oh no!
When I saw him in NYC earlier this year, the crowd was a lot more respectful than the ones at the EV Beacon shows, and Chris seemed to enjoy it.

I still thought he did a great job, he only lost it a couple of times. I thought Chris was awesome, but the crowd sucked. I left with a bad feeling not really because of Chris, but the crowd was really one of the worst I've been in. They were talking during songs, constantly going to the bathroom and to get drinks, and at one point even yelled out Freebird. Seriously? Urgh. I stood up during one song after having stayed seated all night and having people walk in front of me and stand in front of me and some dude ten rows behind me asked me to sit down. Even at Ed solos people stand up on occasional songs. I guess that was his first concert or something? Chris and a couple of guys we met after the show were the best part of that night. One of the guys said the the grandmother of Kings of Leon was their Sunday school teacher, I thought that was a cool story.
Edit: I agree that the poster was awesome and I got a couple of good pictures that I will share as soon as I get them uploaded.
I think I'm gonna catch him in Mesa... Carpool, anyone?

I'm seeing Chris this Sunday in Miami. How long did you have to wait for him to greet the fans?
He didn't greet them in Memphis as far as I know. We waited a good couple of hours afterwards and he never showed. I'm sure this was because he was sick, but would have still loved the chance to have met him. Good luck in Miami.
He hit a lot of the bigger markets in the spring's first leg of the tour, which I think was originally supposed to be the only leg until it did so well. I saw it in Chicago and I couldn't recommend it more. Just his voice with an acoustic guitar in a small room is unbelievable. At the very least, the album from the spring tour should definitely be worth it, if you can't see the show live.
I posted this in the Porch earlier, but can't resist adding it here. I love Cornell/Soundgarden *almost* as much as PJ and entered a contest to be an official photographer of one of Chris's shows next month. Voting opened today at the link below - you can either vote online (thru Facebook or Twitter) and/or text. My submission is a pic of Chris from a couple years ago, but if you look at my profile on the Talenthouse site, I've posted other pics of PJ and Cornell (including from PJ20), and have plenty more to share. I would totally appreciate your votes! This would be my dream job for a night. Thanks!
Ridgefield, CT :?:
Ive lived in this State all my life and have never heard of this city/town...and its really not that big of a State.
Why is he playing such obscure towns/venues?
Edit: The Spin Doctors are playing at this venue so it must be relevant
Any idea on ticket prices? He's not even listed on this venue's site yet..
My company is based out of Ridgefield, CT. Sadly, I have to go there for meetings twice a year. Not a very fun place to be...but it's only 40 mins from NYC, so I guess it could be worse!
That laryngitis news is a bummer. Doesnt look like I will be seeing him tomorrow night. I was pretty pumped.

After seeing 3 amazing shows on the first leg, I was hoping to hit as many shows as possible, but have had to cancel. I have some tickets available. For now I am just getting rid of my Carnegie Hall tickets, but may have to pass on Kalamazoo and Indy too.
Carnegie Hall - 11/21/11 - Prime Parquet, Row O
Face value of course. I believe they were $142 for the pair. Hard tickets.

I guess we got lucky in Memphis. Honestly, even with laryngitis, Chris gave a great show.
