Please, more info on The Kids are Twenty?

I'm sure there are a lot of us debating whether to get the Deluxe blu-ray instead of the standard one, especially the international fans among us who will have to wait for delivery (past experience suggests that could take a while...), and may also have to pay customs.

It would be really helpful to know what The Kids are Twenty actually is, as for me it's the main extra that I'm interested in. Can we have more information? How different is it to the main film?

One aspect of making this movie was sorting through all the old footage. The other side was interviewing the band. Were they eager to open up, or did you have to coax them?
That's a good question. Originally, we were just going to do an archival study of them – a real straight Kids Are Alright kind of account of all the stuff that was in the vaults that had never been released. We got halfway through. We actually have a version of the movie that's like that, which will come out on the DVD, called The Kids Are 20 – it's the movie with just performance and very little talk. But about halfway through, we were saying, "You know, it would be really great to go in there now and talk to the guys about all this stuff. But let's talk to them in their houses, where they're most personally comfortable, and ask them conversational questions. Let's get them as guys on film." So that's what we did.

Just performances? Oh mama! This has "THE VAULT, DVD STYLE" written all over it! :D
  • Well that sounds cool, as long as it is properly jam packed with live performances. Wish we could get some info like tracklist, length etc. from 10c like you would get from normal stores. It's a lot of cash to drop for this, especially from over seas. The standard blu-ray is just £9.99 in online UK stores :/
  • I think a version without the interviews actually could benefit the film. It could be really cool!

Yeah thanks! Seriously considering pre-ordering this but still would like the deluxe. Like it's £10 ($15) for one disc? And $70 for three discs and nice packaging? We really need more detail on the deluxe Blu-Ray before pre-ordering. It's only fair really.
