Giveaway! Star Anna PJ20 Postcard Signed & new CD

Hi,
After work yesterday, my wife and I drove down to Tucson from Scottsdale (230 miles round trip) to see Star play Plush in Tucson. There was another guy from Mesa there (with PJ20 gear on) who got a signed setlist (pretty cool).

I had the band sign my 10club goodie item which is a Star Anna postcard showing the cover of her new CD and the tourdates on the back. Mike McCready was in Canada so he did not sign it. You will also get 1 Star Anna button.

My wife was kinda bummed that I made her drive after work all the way to Tucson to see this band in a bar on Monday night. After The Laughing Dogs played "For When I Go", my eyes teared up and my jaw was on the floor. I looked at my wife and noticed we had the same musical experience for the first time in our 20 year marriage. They played for an hour and a half. I recognized the drummer before they went on stage and he was standing right in front of us. "Bird Without Wings" was our favorite song before the set and I had said loud enough to my wife, "Man, after driving here all the way from Phoenix, I hope they play "Bird Without Wings" they mentioned a couple of requests, someone had requested "Burn" which they played during the set as well.

The band themselves were very workman like and very approachable. Justin let me look at his pedalboard which was mostly Fulltone, he had a Deja-Vibe and a Mosfet Drive amongst others. He also showed me the chords of Bird Without Wings. They used a Capo which is why I wasn't getting it right .

Anyway, it was an awesome setlist, and awesome show and a powerful voice... It was a Monday night and there were only about 25 people there. I wish there was more. I also wish more people were standing and we had a mini pit. They were rocking and surprisingly heavy live (Mesa Boogie Amps)! By far it was the best $6 I have ever spent on a show. I wish I got a picture with her and my wife, but I forgot. We bought a CD and the band signed it (I like how Justin and Ty asked if we wanted just Star or the whole band to sign it.)

You DO NOT get the signed CD. Sorry...

Post the link to your favorite video performance in this thread and tell me what your nickname is in the you tube comments. You may enter as many times as you like and after a undisclosed certain number of entries have been made I will draw a winner. Again, enter as man times as you like. Feel free to like her on facebook as well.

I really enjoyed a acoustic performance of Bird Without Wings that was played on AET with just Star Anna on an acoustic guitar, Justin's guitar was turned on yet. If anyone has that version, let me know.

    To generate additional interest, I will also buy Star Anna's CD Alone in this Together via the Ten Club and mail it to the winner. The CD though, will not be signed and will arrive separately.

    Thanks for posting guys! Keep it coming.

    I was about to let this contest die a slow death since no one seemed interested, but this band is worth it. Plus they were really friendly! Even though there was maybe 20 people at our show, the played as if their was 2000 people there.

    Yeah, she is one amazing voice. I have listened to the cd numerous times. each time it cuts a little deeper.

    I really had a hard time missing her show tonight in Salt Lake. The only thing that would make me miss it was a family matter, and guess what, my beautiful daughter carried the trump card tonight. I was still trying to figure out how to make it happen even knowing what the last few days were going to entail...

    I have been working the night shift, 12hours worth since Monday. I was able to get my girl into see a super-shoulder surgeon for an initial exam this morning (wed) and was scheduled for 2 more night shifts... I kept running it through how I could get her to the doctor at 10 am (a 2 hour drive from our home) get her back home, and turn arouond and do the 2 hour drive back to Salt Lake to see the show. I couldnt take her, as it was at an over 21 bar/night club. I also didnt get an vacation pre-approved, so that also was a consideration, but I figured to call in sick and take care of excuses on thursday night...

    I finally just had to punt. I really, really, really wanted to see this show. We couldn't make the first showing at Alpine, as our flight didnt land in MKE until 2pm Saturday. We planned to catch her Sunday, and I did, I guess but only partially. I got to hear her awesome vocals while I was standing in line waiting to buy the days posters at the outside merch table. Hindsight being I should have punted the posters, and held onto the memory that could have been...

    another thing I was wondering about... the lable on the postcard mentions local 638.

    It just so happens that the venue she played in Salt Lake is located on 638 State Street. I was wondering if there is a connection or a coincidence. Any idea?

    Saw Star Anna in Tucson, she was great. Her band is top notch! Such an amazing voice, very soft spoken in person. Her voice reminds me of a mix of Patsy Cline & Melissa Etheridge. Very Friendly!

    OK, the giveaway did not go as planned as we will never reach the # I had wanted or even close which I though was not unreasonable. So I will end it, not going to buy the CD (sorry!) but I am going to draw the names that did post in this thread and mail out the signed tour postcard and button. I will draw tonight sometime and PM the winner.
