Hello, I'd want to ask if someone remembers the name of that acoustic song that eddie vedder played in a concert organized by mtv in the 90's (I saw this video on mtv very recently). It's a cover of a not very known artist... I don't remember his name, I think it begins with the letter "O", but I'm not sure. Anyway, this song talks about revolution, peace and freedom. A very beautiful song.

Thank you for helping me.

  • this might be completely wrong, but a guess,

    maybe
"talkin about a revolution" by Tracy Chapman?

No... it was a song by a man... even eddie wedder said that "no one would ever remember a song by (the name of the artist)" but it was a very beautiful song. I think one of the best acoustic song eddie vedder played in his carrier. I don't understand why no one ever mentioned this song, neither on tv (but this is quite normal...) nor by the fans. This is sad. Bye.
  • Doesn't ring a bell. When I'm trying to find out the name of a song I usually try finding it on you tube first. Otherwise I think theskyiscrape or giventowail have a pretty good data base of pearl jam covers. You can try there and see if anything pops out at ya.

You saw a video on MTV? This whole thing was clearly a hallucination of some kind.

Maybe Patriot...just a guess. By Steven VanZandt. Or more notable by Jackson Browne.

Here's to the State of Mississippi? Just a guess.

I'm equally amazed by the video seen on MTV statement. Who knew?

I didn't see the MTV version, just on Storytellers. I didn't remember the author's name, but it sounded like the song he was asking for.

Damn, we aren't the Library of Congress around here. We try. See? :)
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

Nono, believe me. I saw it on mtv gold (italian satellite), it was an amazing concert they did for mtv in the 90's. A live masterpiece, one of those u can't see anymore nowadays... Some songs were simply enchanting. Eddie Vedder amazed everyone with this cover song. The public was in delirium. I hope to find it somewhere. Youtube is a little bit saturated by its many videos, it's not easy to find the right one. Bye
