Agreed. I have never been a fan and am not a fan of what happened last night. Ortiz has to protect himself though.
Manny was my best hope but it doesn't look like that's ever gonna happen....
You get at least 5 fights for MMA where the is a much greater chance of a KO. Boxing is 12 rounds of dancing (or a fluke like last night).

Watch some old Leonard vs Hearns, Hagler vs Leonard and many many more...not dancing.

Boxing is straight up hand to hand combat and is the oldest sport in the world. I love it. I can't get into the submission and martial arts aspect of MMA.
rule # 1 as a boxer... keep your gloves up and never take your eye off your opponent.
I love boxing of the past, but I have seen only a few good fights in the past 5 years. I see at least one great MMA match a month.

MMA>boxing...You guys keep pointing out matches that are 20 years ago or more. Also, boxing is the world's oldest sport? Is it really any older than wrestling and grappling?
Why? Ortiz started it with a super cheap headbutt...and then he hugged Mayweather in an attempt to apologize. Okay. Then they go to the center of the ring...and he hugs Mayweather again. Okay...well now it's time to get your hands up or you might get knocked the fuck out. And I hate Mayweather. But fuck Ortiz. Rule #1 of boxing (or any of these barbaric fighting sports) is to protect yourself at all times.

You have to keep your hands up even when the ref stops the fight?
I dunno. I'm not much of a boxing fan but from everything I've read, it was legal....even if unethical.
