First off, maximum respect for the work that you do. This video is thought provoking and inspiring stuff.

Second off, I have failed to find a way to save the video - have tried all the tricks I know. It looks like it has been set up to make it difficult to save. The best way may be to download a 'video capture' tool.

I have to go out for a while, but I will have another look later, and see if I have any success. If I do, I will upload the saved file to megaupload or something for you

    Hi Ivy

You might want to have a play around with this piece of free software - it records to a standard avi file any or all of what you see on your screen.

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/camstud ... e/download

I had a few goes at trying to save this for you, but I ran into a problem that my particular laptop has (that I've encountered before), where it won't allow me to save the sound coming out of my speakers - I don't think you are likely to encounter this problem though - if you have the settings on the recorder set to record sound etc.

Hope this helps - this is the best solution I could come up with - unless anyone else has any better ideas?

By the way, having watched your video right through a couple of times now, whilst fiddling around with trying to record etc, I have to say that it is very challenging, moving and inspiring all at the same time. I am completely sold about what you argue for Inclusion.

  • thanks so much...... times two. :)

i'll mess around with it later.

i've been trying to find safari's video cache as means of saving this too. no luck.
internet explorer made it easy to save videos from the video history.

hey... i know my voice can be tricky.
if anybody's interested here's the transcript of that video.

Yeah, in the past I have been able to safe videos from the Firefox cache - but your video wasn't showing up there at all, even after playing it through in its entirety.

Good luck with the rest of your work - I have a feeling the world be hearing a lot more from you ;)

Check out this app. StreamTransport . It's freeware & available over @ download.com . Videos I can't save using keepvid.com , I just open it's browser and it'll downloaded any video you see on the world wide web.

Phew - you have thick skin. I think it's sometimes hard for important issues to be dealt with properly on a message board - it's hard work too! I know from my own work, sometimes just getting out there and doing some activism is the only way. I think your video is a powerful tool though.

Did you find a way to save the video on your mac eventually ?

I need to do this too, and I haven't got round to searching for some software that'll let me do that yet.

guess i'm sick and twisted because i think it kinda fun. maybe what it is is that i'm used to just people lying to me "oh yes! that's wonderful!" I think that happens a lot to people with disabilities, they get placated to. but with the net people can let it fly! lol
...and just think some maybe watching the video just because. which wasn't my intention at all. i just wanted some help with it.
    thank you.

Yeah, sorry to drag you off topic. One of my close friends has CP, and I've learned a lot about life since getting to know him. I just thought / think it's a powerful video and message. Hope you manage to get a good recording!

No luck so far :( . I did manage pretty easily to download a video from Youtube by using the activity monitor in Safari, and opening the video in VLC. But it doesn't work for you file. Apparently, it's a VOD, so I think that explains why it doesn't work. I just downloaded a freeware - I'll tell you how it goes.
  • got it on youtube. is the audio bad?

It's not as easy to follow as the original, but it still works I think. If you can't get a direct save of the original then I think this would work as a fall back.

Yeah, I can't find a way to save a VOD. :( I wonder whether you can do a video screen capture of it, while it plays ? I've never tried that before. There are softwares out there that allow you to do just that. I'll try this and come back to you.
If that doesn't work, and since you found it on youtube, you can easily save that one - either from the activity monitor or using Clone2go youtube downloader (free) => you just need to type in the URL and it downloads the video. You can even choose the format you want the video in, without having to convert it. Hassle-free.

Edit - I've tried this video screen capture thing. Well, you don't want to do that :| . It slows the motion significantly and I'm not sure about the sound either, I think it records the sound from your speaker, ie - you don't want to make any noise while you're recording. :problem:
