Forgive me if this has been covered but I could not find another thread. I have 2 10c tix for Hartford and can't make it due to travel for work. Is there any way that I can transfer the tix to my friend?

Appears the answer this year is a resounding "nope". Rumour has it they have denied all requests for ticket transfers.

their used to be a way for it in 06 because i know someone who wound up with second row to the 12/2 show in hawaii, transferred from a 10 club member in california who never even intended on going to the show. he just did it to hook up his friend. good deal, but i disagree with the whole deal. i don't think you should be able to.

No. It is not allowed for this tour. The best I would suggest would be to give him your ID and hope that he can pick them up as you.

    Good luck.

Nice to see they are sticking to the policy this tour. Maybe this will stop people from circumventing the system to hook friends up by getting tickets to a show they don't intend to go to.
  • You could email 10c just to make sure...

why does everyone assume this is always the case?

things come up and some of us can't go

I assume it is because it isn't fair. Who's to say ones excuse is better then anothers? If you make exceptions you create a situation where certain people will come up with ways to exploit it. Some people have ruined it for others.

    This.

It's a shame for those that do have last minute problems, but the transfer option seemed easy to abuse with as many as I had seen on some past tours. Each time they would say there would be no transfers, but ended up doing them anyway. If there is a real emergency I think the only option they should have is a refund.
  • It's a shame that this practice has been "outlawed" as a result of the actions of a few.

During the 06 tour, I was out of the country during the onsales for my hometown shows in LA. Luckily, I found someone that was unable to attend the shows and was kind enough to transfer them to me.

Agreed that this has been ruined for others, but there are legitimate reasons for someone to 'all of a sudden' not be able to attend.

10 Club resells the tickets and gets paid twice. NO REFUND. I realize this is the risk you take, but it just doesn't seem fair.

I agree with NO TRANSFERS, but perhaps a refund and then the 10 Club just resells it before the show.

    How would this hurt anyone.

Person who doesn't get to go gets their money back, another 10 Clubber gets to go to the show, and the 10 Club gets piece of mind that no shenanigans went on.

Sure the 10 Club would have to do a little bit more work, but I doubt it would be that much, since transfers allowed people to buy for others, thus increasing the need to exchange, whereas here it would only be for hard luck cases who legitimately can't go.

    No one else is rewarded.

    what's not fair?

the fact that life throws some things our way that we have no control over?

    i agree.

Chances are if there is an emergency that comes up, the $140 for tickets isn't the main concern at the time.

Ten Club shouldn't be responsible for reselling the tickets after offering refunds.

I suggest that if there is an outside chance you will not be able to attend, use the ticketmaster onsale so that you can transfer tickets anyway you'd like.

The ten club offers us an opportunity to obtain better seats and IMO really shouldn't have to accomodate our schedules or decide for themselves which stories are real and which are made up. The fact of life is that most people lie and I am sure if they policy stated that tickets can be transferred for emergencies only, more people would "make up" an emergency than actually have one. That is not a shot on us Pearl Jam fans, but a reality of society in general.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.
  • I aksed 10C to auction my tickets for charity, and was told no.

you can pick them up as late as 30 minutes after PJ hits the stage. At that point there isn't much value to them and I assume they are just discarded?

    ...
I heard stories where they were given to people in the crappy upper level.
A couple of gals in Irvine in 2003 moved into the empty seats next to me about 6 songs into the set and told me 'some gal' gave them those tickets. their original seats were up on the lawn at the back Irvine Meadows. I was in the 3rd row with 10/VHC tickets.

That would make me feel better about it all. Hope that is true.
