I honestly wassn't trying to argue with you on this just making a point that there are educated people that believe that global warming is not man made, me personally I couldn't tell you if it is or not but I do know that pollutants created by man don't do anybody any good but I don't know if those same pollutants are causing global warming.

My Godfather, you live in california. i am sure you have done this, but try looking out your window at the smog and try to convince yourself that it is all good and is in no way harmful to the environment. i spent some time out there and i tried to do that, but the overwhelming sense i got from seeing that smog and inhaling it was "this shit can NOT be good..."
any person on the payroll of an oil company that is debating agianst the position of burning fossil fuels contributes to global warning has zero credibility to me. all they are are corporate shills paid big money to say publicly what that oil company wants them to say..

I understand what you're saying I lived in LA and even in the 60''s it was so thick you could almost walk on it..
infact we had to move from LA to san diego because of the medical problems the smog caused my father
his doc told him we had to move, hard to believe but thats what my parents told us.

...which is really too bad because if you really do some honest research you'll find that the vast majority of "scientist" who are climate denialists are funded by corporate big oil. Of course they're going to tell you global warming is a hoax and that climate scientists have lied. That is because they care more about short term gain than the tragic long term consquences of global warming.

Sun Causes Climate Change Shock

If Michael Crichton had lived to write a follow-up to State of Fear, the plotline might well have gone like this: at a top secret, state of the art laboratory in Switzerland, scientists finally discover the true cause of “global warming”. It’s the sun, stupid. More specifically – as the Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark has long postulated – it’s the result of cosmic rays which act as a seed for cloud formation. The scientists working on the project are naturally euphoric: this is a major breakthrough which will not only overturn decades of misguided conjecture on so-called Man Made Global Warming but will spare the global economy trillions of dollars which might otherwise have been squandered on utterly pointless efforts to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions. However, these scientists have failed to realise just how many people – alarmist scientists, huckster politicians, rent-seeking landowners like (the late Michael Crichton’s brilliant and, of course, entirely fictional creation) the absurd, pompous Sir Reginald Leeds Bt, green activists, eco-fund managers, EU technocrats, MSM environmental correspondents – stand to gain from the Man Made “Climate Change” industry. Their discovery must be suppressed at all costs. So, one by one, the scientists on the cosmic ray project find themselves being bumped off, until only one man remains and must race against time to prove, etc, etc…
Except of course in the real world the second part wouldn’t happen. No one would need to go to the trouble of bumping off those pesky scientists with their awkward, annoying facts and their proper actual research. That’s because the MSM and the scientific “community” would find it perfectly easy to suppress the story anyway, without recourse to severed brake cables or ricin-impregnated hand-washes or staged “suicides”.
This is exactly what has happened with the latest revelations from CERN over its landmark CLOUD experiment, whose significance Lawrence Solomon explains here:
the worst PR ploy is the: environmentalists are motivated by profit ... that one is the most insulting one ... all my friends that make very little working for non-profits defending environmental issues are definitely not doing it for some financial reward ... but it does go to show what absurd lengths these bastards will go ... and the utter naivety of their audience ...

When asked, ―When scientists say ―the debate on climate change is over‖, what exactly do they mean – and what don‘t they mean?‖ Jones replied, ―It would be supposition on my behalf to know whether all scientists who say the debate is over are saying that for the same reason. I don‘t believe the vast majority of climate scientists think this. This is not my view. There is still much that needs to be undertaken to reduce uncertainties, not just for the future, but for the instrumental (and especially the palaeoclimatic) past as well.‖

I thought it was inestering that's all. as I have said in the past I am on the fence with this stuff,I have no doubts that either case could be true so I like to read thing's on both sides of the argument.

may i humbly suggest that instead of googling "truth about global warming" or "is global warming real" - you google "what is global warming" ... and actually learn what the base science is ... because if you learn it - i am pretty sure you wouldn't be on the fence on this issue ...
unfortunately, like most environmental issues - it's become politicized and become partisan ... although, huntsman is at least one prominent GOP who believes in the science ... the irony is that the environment as an issue was born largely from conservatives ...

Godfather, you asked if your post was read. Did you at least look at my links? I hope so. I've said this before, and I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all...I don't... but I've read literally stacks of books, periodicals, internet links etc., etc. on global warming climate change- and not just "liberal" sources, but all sides. The evidence is overwhelming, global warming is real and it's cause is mainly anthropocentric and I'm quickly running out of steam trying to convince climate change deniers what we're in for. So when the shit really hits the fan, please, no complaints!

the gop has firmly established itself as anti-science relating to evolution and stem cell research, so don't be surprised when republicans refute the science on this topic either...

If global warming is not man made... then, we shouldn't have any problem with what China pumps into the atmosphere as she brings her fires of industry and heavy manufacturing to full bore, right?
