    he really is the greatest comedian of our time, and I think its because he's real. He says a lot of fucked up shit that crosses our minds but instead of quickly ignoring them he goes into detail about it.

    he's also a really depressing person, but thats what makes his standup so funny.

    the wife and I went to one of his shows a year or so back and it was hilarious. we met him after the show and I said to him "you made her (my wife) cry" and he says "oh good!". he seemed to appreciate that :D

    Louis is an amazing comedian. I've seen him a few times and he's been great each time. What amazes me the most is that he changes his act every time he goes out on the road. He basically has an entirely new hour of material each year. I saw him open for Howie Mandel when Howie performed at my college back in the late-90s and Louis stole the show for me (and that's not a knock on Howie because he was great, too). I don't know too many comedians who can come up with a tears-in-the-eyes funny bit about a grandmother being sexually assaulted in a nursing home. He even makes my girlfriend laugh at the most fucked up jokes he tells.

    His show on FX is great. He does a great job of capturing those awkward, depressing, and shitty moments in life and making them funny. I love the 1-2 punch of "Louie" and "Wilfred" this season. They go together very well.
