In Dreams

the wolf

I can see the clouds in her eyes‬
rolling, rolling….‬
I could stare forever,‬
but I don’t.‬
I’m just not that strong‬
Just one look,‬
can make me weak.‬
A burning need.‬

‪This is how it’s supposed to be,‬
how love should always feel.‬
This is what I’ve been missing….‬
How long?‬

‪A cure to my sleepless nights,‬
a cure to my blues.‬
She makes it easy…‬
Easy to love her,‬
and surprisingly, easy to be me.‬

‪I ache to hold her again…‬
But I must wait the long wait.‬
The geography has changed,‬
but that’s not all...‬
The distance may be greater,‬
but my love for her has grown stronger.‬

‪I’ll be waiting for our time,‬
though short it may be‬
I’ll be waiting for her‬
to still my mind,‬
and fill my arms‬
‪as we sleep.‬

‪Like Mr. Orbison said,‬
‪tonight we’ll be together,‬
but only in dreams.
