it is great that all of these people are agreeing with paul. i am thinking it is not going to help paul a lick when people like chomsky, who some call an america hating extremist, starts agreeing with him. i think it could actually hurt him.

He concluded that many Muslims around the world had opposed the U.S. “not because they hate our freedoms, but because they opposed murderous and brutal policies.”

Funny, but I said the same thing in a thread on the Train just a couple of days ago and was told that I had never sunk so low.

Whoa- no kidding! It will be interesting to see how (if at all) Paul responds to this.

If I recall, correctly, Byrnzie, you were called on your timing. I found the timing very appropriate myself.

As well as honoring the dead it's time to take a close look at what we're doing.

The fact that Ron Paul was booed for stating that America was attacked because of it's foreign policy - something that any honest five year old would agree on - speaks volumes about the level of mainstream politics in your country.
Let's pretend that America was attacked because 'they' are jealous of us!

It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad and twisted.

I think this has been posted on the Train before, but David Cross agrees with both Paul and Chomsky, and makes the case way more brilliantly (if only Chomsky had a sense of humor):

I thought we were attacked because "our enemies hate freedom." A great man whom Jesus anointed to be President said that, and it is a good enough explanation for me...dum, du dum, dum, du, du dum......
