dont know if this has already been posted, but Ed is up for a 2008 MTVU woodie award for 'good woodie', for "commitment to social causes"

    No, Ed's never been nominated for this award before. However, Pearl Jam was nominated for the same award in 2006.

    I voted for Emmanuel Jay. Never had heard of him before this, but thats pretty powerful stuff speaking out about having been a child soldier. Great job by all the nominees for supporting meaningful causes.

    Good to see MTV is atleast doing something like this and acknowledges Ed to be the first person to vote.

    I honestly dont think he will win against all the other mainstream artists but we'll see. maybe..

    But those are really a couple of good causes....nice to see that MTV acknowledges causes and charities instead of just putting mindless crap on their channel all the time...
