Does today's music need more balls?

When you take a look at the non-pop artists out there the majority of them are either bland alternative rock or indie.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy indie music because of the folk influences, but for me a lot of times these indie bands are lacking a harder rocking punch - they are very catchy sing-a-long type songs. I was listening to Crown of Thorns today and it left me wondering where the awesome guitar solos, rocking grooves, and energy went??
Cause the bands that DO try to rock just come across as bland in my opinion (Switchfoot, Paramore, Red, etc.)
Today's music needs to grow a pair!!

Anyway I agree. Anytime I check out new artists on itunes, rarely do I ever hear rock music that grabs my ears immediately. It seems all of these indie rock bands are all into these "soft" and "subtle" sounds with alot of synths. Even when it is catchy and grabs you, it usually isnt ballsy anyway. Like foster the people for instance, extremely catchy, and incredible IMO, but still not very rocking at all.
I actually havie been listening to alot of electronic music lately. Alot of it has more "balls" than the alternative stuff.

Ehhh.....this is a prime example of what is not ballsy enough for me. Lack of lead vocals and a riff that is cool, but otherwise could probably be made up after about 30 mins of toying around. I'm not saying it is a bad song, but just doesn't get me excited.
What does get me excited:

But then again I have always been more inclinded towards metal/hard rock anyways....so not sure how that factors in
Eddie Vedder- 7/16/11
Brad- 4/21/12 (RSD Performance), 4/27/12, 8/10/12
Flight To Mars- 5/23/12
RNDM- 11/27/12
PEARL JAM- 12/6/13 I have finally seen Pearl Jam live!
LOL, that is great. Man, I've been watching that on youtube ever since they performed it.
