  • Howdy,
Be sure to check out "the Lakes" Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isels and Lake Harriet, roughly a 10 mile walk/run around all of them or about 3 a piece, or you can rent kayaks or canoes on Lake Calhoun. Check out Target Field, although the twins are playing like shit and if baseball isn't your thing just hang out downtown before or after a game, there are plenty of good bars and good craft beer to be had. Check out First Avenue, great place to see a show. Minnehaha Falls is a cool place to check out, which is on the south side of the cities, Hang around the U of M, Dinkytown area, espically if the gophers are in town, again they are playing like shit but a fun area, there's plenty of good bars and good beer, Bob Dylan used to live above the Loring Pasta Bar, when it used to be Gray's Drug store! St. Anthony Main is a cool area where you can check out the stone arch bridge and St. Anthony Falls. If you make it over to St. Paul, check out Summit Avenue and Grand Avenue, really cool old mansions and beautiful views of St. Paul from Summit! Enjoy the cities, they really are a cool place to live!!
    Take care,
    Brian.

  • Go to 7th Street and Nicollet Mall, and toss your hat up in the air Mary Tyler Moore style. Or just check out the statue.

And take comfort in the fact that you're going to make it after all.

    No problem!
    Have fun
  • went to Dinkytown twice so far.. pretty nice place to go. There was a coffee shop nearby that place where Dylan was living, I went there for work on my stuff during the last 2 days. And, I also drove my motorbike around those lakes. It's actually really close to where i'm living.

I'm taking notes of everything you guys wrote. It's a really interesting city to visit so far..

    thanks

This was going to be my suggestion too!

Or ride the roller coaster at the Mall of America.

So...nothing else fun to do here besides the Mall of America?

Thinking of accompanying Mr RK on a business trip here first week of November.
Not a big sports fan, and it will be too cold to kayak on the lake.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
