Winnipeg & Saskatoon Record Stores?

I found a decent source here... http://www.n49.ca/c/514 ... but am hoping for more specific recommendations if any vinyl nuts out there have them.

I'm mainly looking for '70s/'80s Canadian rock on 7" and LP vinyl... Chilliwack, Sweeney Todd, Fludd, A Foot In Coldwater and the like.

I've been to the Vintage Vinyl in Regina and found some great stuff there.

Thanks in advance! :)

  • There's only two real record stores in Saskatoon.

The Vinyl Exchange on 2nd Avenue although it is more of a head shop has the best selection but there prices tend to be pretty high. I often see them charging 65$ for the same pressings I find online and other places for only 12$.

The Vinyl Diner on broadway is a little better but pretty small and again everything is pretty overpriced. Its kinda easy to miss though, when you see the 'booster juice' on the corner look for a door beside it then go up the stairs and its there.

Tramps is an honorable mention but it's really a book store and is not very well kept and they again seem to do no research about pricing and put everything up.

In Saskatoon the stuff you are looking for would be better found at Salvation army stores or garage sales here. You can easily pick those up for 1$-3$ a piece whereas you would be paying 10-15 at those stores. If you got a list pm it to me I'm always hittin up yardsales and second hand stores I could grab a few for you and get them to you when your in town.

As for record stores, If I were you I'd save your money for Calgary everytime I go there I find cool stuff.
    hope this is helpful

  • also Sonus Musica on Portage ave (same street as MTS Centre-just much further west). Never been in there, but I hear it's a good place.
