I will be traveling over the George Washington Bridge to head to the Jets game tomorrow night. I would be lying if I said I am not a little nervous.

they have picked up 2 of them and you can bet that the bridge is being watched and inspected by the Fed's

Yea I know, the day just brings up so many bad memories. I don't want anything to happen anywhere in the country tomorrow, especially NY because I don't know how people will handle that day being defiled.

I am reading 2 are in the US, not that they have been captured.

this kind of thing is why those "small government" and "states rights" people are wrong. those suspects could be anywhere and it takes a multi state/federal force to intercept chatter and find these people.

if there was no fbi i am sure that they would have a better chance of a successful attack.

i seriously doubt that anything is going to happen. the most they have been able to do is have some dude burn his balls off with an underwear sparkler...

Your post overlooks the whole underlying reason of why these suspects want to bring harm to America to begin with and doesn't really refute those who wish for smaller government.

this big fat government has been called the reason we need to worry about our safety by many people...including many on this board. So I guess this goes both ways.

How about you say, way to go FBI, wish you guys had more time on your hands to do this stuff instead of worrying about something stupid like the war on drugs(part of the big fat government problem)

Purely hypothetical here...but say there was an absolute imminent threat, but we couldn't pinpoint where it was going to go down. In this scenario we only know a major city is going to be attacked with numerous dirty bombs but we aren't for sure which city. Say the two we've captured know the plan, and know where to find the 3rd member of their little group who is supposed to execute the plan. How would you go about obtaining the information from them in order to protect the citizens?

If our government wasn’t so overarching to begin with we wouldn’t be in other countries meddling around in their affairs. If we had a more limited amount of government it would essentially not have the means and arrogance to nation build and bomb other peoples creating what the CIA itself deems as “blowback”. It is because of US policy from our huge federal government that there are people out there who want to harm us. We go over into their countries and disrupt their way of life and act as if nothing has happened.
So, to discredit the belief that small government advocates would be screwed if a small government was realized in America overlooks the fact that, also with a small government there would be less people attempting to bring ruin upon America because there would be less blowback due to less American involvement abroad telling other countries what to do. Sure our big federal government routed out this plot, but what is overlooked is the fact that the reason this plot was concocted to begin with was because our big federal government and its oppression of peoples around the world.
We have this big fat threatening government to thank for increased insecurity around the world in my opinion, not increased security. We were more safe before the war on terror than we are now.

By going over all of the information and data that lead you the 2/3s of the conspirators. There will be links between the 3 of them if 3 of them are in the plot. Identify those connections and it leads you to the third member.
What caught this current plot was... good old fashoned police work by talented agents and detectives.

I agree, it's great if they didn't have to use torture methods. And I think NYC does a great job, even the regular citizens do a great job, they all understand that NYC will always always be the primary target. Maybe because it is so rich in everything, obviously money, art, and culture; but also diversity. I agree that all branches of law enforcement and the NYC citizens have done an excellent job of preventing another attack over the last 10 years and should be applauded.

I am so proud of the city for not allowing any attack yesterday. That would have been devastating.

Excactly, I mean asking the two guys you have in custody is the last thing you want to do, since they are pretty much guaranteed to give you false information that you are going spend a bunch of time chasing down and having to verify. And unless they are total morons they are going to have a fake story set up so that they both tell you the same thing if they are caught.

Why would you assume torture would give you anything close to accurate information. If I was questioning someone who was my enemy I would almost assume every bit of information he was giving me was a lie.

I would love to know where you are from, because I feel you are missing the point here.

Of course an attack any day would be tragic, but I specifically mentioned yesterday because NYC was on edge all day long. I have never seen so many cop cars in my life. Security has been great in NYC, including stopping the bomb from being set off in Times Square last year. An attack yesterday would have been an even greater victory for the terrorists.
