  • I wonder how Rick Perry squares his hatred of federal involvement in the states, and federal spending, with him begging for money and assistance from that same govt.

Maybe if he didn't cut his state's forest service budget, he wouldn't need so much help from the feds.

Maybe if he believed in climate science/global warming/climate change he'd see that cutting CO2 in the atmosphere is the number one step in preventing the increase in growing wild fires in the west and other nearly universal climate change related problems that are on the rise.

    ding ding ding!!!

    we have a winner here...

rick perry, the president of irony...the governor of contradiction...

he thought texas should secede just last year, now he has his palm out asking for federal money from the government he so despises... i would have liked to have seen him take texas out of the union, and then the fires happen, and he would have no way to put them out and rebuild. the people would have lynched him for making such a short-sighted ideological decision...

the thing i wonder why most people don't understand is this....it is easy for a state to have a close to a balanced budget, or maybe a small surplus or a small deficit when there is a massive federal government cash flow just waiting to bail them out when they get into trouble....

He doesnt care either way. HE's running FOR the pres. He dont give a shit about these people burned out of their homes. If he did, dont you think he'd be in front of a camera kissing babies or some such shit with those burned out? No, instead he's out stumping for a nomination he's going to lose.

now THAT is telling it like it is. couldn't agree more.

i love how presidential candidates ignore their other responsibilities to campaign for a popularity contest that they can't win.

rick perry is the new fred thompson.
remember how HE was going to win the nomination?

I saw this last night and Bill maher spoke on the gentleman from Texas and just what you are talking about here....check it at the 1:30 mark

Then the President's speech and what he needs to do and I totally agree GROW A Pair...6:30 unfortunatly it's cut a bit short.

that was pretty good. thanks for posting.

i think many liberals like myself feel exactly how maher said. great speech, where is the follow up and are you gonna sell us out again?? even he said that obama took republican ideas that they had voted on and passed and when he said that in the speech they look like they still disagree with him.

i like his book title
