PJ20 - What's the one song you didn't hear?

Alright, I'm not saying by any stretch of the imagination that I was disappointed. Far from it. I'm just wondering if there was *ONE* song you could have heard them play that night (that they didn't), what would it have been?

I would have loved to have heard "Walking the Cow". Oh man, I would have lost my mind.

Crown of Thorns. That has been my unicorn that I have been chasing for about 5-6 years now. Have missed it by one show a hand full of times. When I saw that it was on the set-list but not played.....

It is so crazy being a PJ fan! I was there the last two times CoT was played- and couldn't have cared less. That is what makes this band so amazing- each and every song means SO much to each seperate person, for different reasons! My "must-have" song is Smile, and luckily I have seen it a buncha times! Good luck Yield98- it will happen for you some day!

    ALL FOUR 09 PHILLY SHOWS!!
  • Present Tense. This is my great white buffalo.

Even more depressing is that it was on night 1's setlist but skipped probably due to curfew.

    Crown of Thorns :cry::cry:
  • I, for one, got my great white buffalo with Deep. That song means a hell of a lot to me for a lot of reasons and was sooooo pumped to hear it. The 2 I really wanted other than that though were Glorified and Light Years

H2I is tied for my favorite song and I have never heard it .

And I needed All Those Yesterdays to complete Yeild but it was taken off the night 1 set.

But the weekend was amazing anyway :D.

Would have loved to hear All Those Yesterdays and I Got Shit. I believe that they were both on the setlist but got cut.

Even without these songs, the Alpine shows were amazing.
  • had a fucking blast and would never complain as it was an incredible experience

but kinda peeved that they showed ZERO love to binaural all weekend.

looks like they are starting to make up for it (2 tracks in montreal)

all will be forgiven if there's an of the girl opener either night in t-dot.

moral of the story- binaural is fucking awesome

yup no complaints but i thought we were in for NAIS and light years..possibly parting ways
  • really didnt understand the haters.

i made the joke "that show fucking sucked" about each night to every friend i saw/met/reconnected with and i could barely keep a straight face. they all had a blast too.

shows were great, weekend was incredible....hope they make this an annual thing.

Yeah... this is NOT going to be an annual thing. You can take that to the bank, and make me eat a printout of this post if it does.

I'll shelve any complaints... but I will say it would have been AMAZING of them to start off night 1 with the setlist from 10/22/90 - and all they would have to learn was Girl! They played 6 of the 8 songs over the two nights as it was.
  • I thought for sure we'd get in hiding. I've only seen it once out of 25 shows. But I got no way for the first time so it's all good.

I was also pretty surprised there was no off he goes or immortality. Popular songs but rarely played.

What a great band when u see six hours of music, 60 songs and can still rattle off 30 or so other great ones they didn't play.

    Garden
    Oceans
    Why go
    Animal
    Go
    Wma
    Indifference
    Dissident
    Blood
    Tremor Christ
    Immortality
    Last exit
    Off he goes
    Present tense
    Brain of j
    In hiding
    Low light
    Mfc
    Lite years
    Nais

    Animal

    Hold on
    Long road
    Corduroy
    I got shit

    I'm sure I forgot some but that's a lot.
  • All Those Yesterdays...what a tease. They played in soundcheck. But Wash and No Way were also on my list and they did those. 2/3 ain't bad.

    Dirty Frank!!

I actually thought with a 1,200 post thread they might bust it out - plus its a fun '20 year' song...

Outside of that though I was actually pretty pleased with the sets. They definitely left a lot off but you have two with only two shows. And the first night had a ton of rare cuts - I knew the second night couldn't keep that up if they wanted to get most of the hits in. :)
  • i mean, on one hand too many to list, some that ive heard before and some that i havent

on the other, you cant go into these kinfda things expecting to much, you gotta dig what you get (and i do!!! :D )

all that being said, i really thought i was gonna get me a CoT last weekend
and fuck me if I say somethin you dont wanna hear, fuck me!
and fuck me if you only hear what you wanna hear
fuck me...if I care...but im not leavin here

Definitely don't put me down as hating. The question was "what one song you didn't hear" and my number one song that I hope for at every show (cause I love and haven't seen live) is Crown of Thorns. It was on the set-list but not played which makes it even more bittersweet, but my wife and I agree that the best days of our lives are (in order): The birth of each of our kids, then PJ20, then our wedding...we both said that knowing what we know now that we would have skipped our wedding and eloped to PJ20!!!

Still want to hear Crown of Thorns, but NOT hearing it DIDN'T ruin PJ20.

    Peace, Love, Pearl Jam!!

Not that it isn't a regular, but I was shocked we didn't get 'Corduroy' either night. Would have been a perfect 2nd song to really get the crowd going after great openers both nights. Not complaining at all though...still the 2 best shows I've ever seen.
