Why are you so concerned with what someone does with something they rightfully own? If I owned one, I likely wouldn't sell it...but either way it wouldn't concern you or anyone else on this board.

I'll totally sell mine. I'm not that sentimental. Besides they're already ripped to my computer.

And who cares, it's theirs to do with what they will.

$250? Fuck. Mine's sitting right out in the open in my car right now.

Starting to get a bit nervous...
  • I'm only concerned because this cd was a gift from 10C. Just seems like it should be shared with folks on the board.

people will do anything for a buck (or several hundreds)

I used to work at an autograph/sports store, Michael Jordan signed 6 'Wings' posters for the stores under the condition that they would NEVER be sold:

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSsZRWiJogJIs1I8RrMfbESFt3gg-vpSE7M06Bzd9Q5OPEONCUw

keep in mind this poster is life size. Well the original owner sold the store to some goober and the first thing he did was put a price tag of $10k on it. Sold within a few weeks. It made me sad.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

    - Christopher McCandless
  • That is sad & you are right some will do anything to make some $$$.

Technically it wasn't a gift....they paid for it by buying a VIP package.

Wow that's ridiculous. Why would anyone pay that much for that? I don't even collect CD's (we have to draw the line somewhere right?) so I'll prob just selll it for cheap to someone here at some point.

You know, these wouldn't sell for $250 if there weren't people willing to pay $250. Who's the schmuck in this equation?

Why people are incapable of waiting a month or three for 10C to sell the CD and poster in question is beyond me.

Hang tight, the PJ20 posters will appear for sale in the Goods section soon enough,...

If I sold my stuff from the show (3 t-shirts, vault cd, poster from each day (one signed by Klaussen), 1 event poster with Niel, (2) Ames Mookie Posters, (2) PJ20 movie posters, and the Ames 10c Beercan poster), I think I could probably turn a profit from going to PJ20.

Of course I wouldnt dream of getting rid of this stuff. Seeing the prices out there is mind boggling.

Are you serious? Everyone that bought 10C tix got one? I thought they were just for VIP ticket holders.

Maybe selling the vault CD is the only way to get PJ20 posters right now... I'd trade mine for some art

dude you would make over a thousand dollars easily

Yeah, I know... but its not even. Tempting for me. It would have been very easy to grab 6 of everything except the cd and movie poster. Im sure plenty of people do this to finance their trips. I guess its a free country, but it would be cool if they could prevent this.

I bought 2 mookie posters, one for a friend at $20 each. Anyone could have easily bought 10 of them and made $2k off of $200.

    Its crazy.

The cds though are one per member and I can't believe so many are selling those.

yeah I agree it needs to be stopped, especially now that we have a semi formal trading/selling forum on here
  • megatronmegatron Posts: 3,420
i can't believe anyone would want it that bad. its just a cd. i'd burn it and sell for 250 are you kidding me??
  • Got 1 Ames on Saturday, put it in my car and was on to the show. I went for the music, not to make money. Guess I should have got 1 extra to trade, came late Sunday and all posters were gonzo. My vault CD case got pretty wet from the rain too.

Hoping the Klausen poster prices go down as the hype dies down in the next few months. I'm in no hurry to get one cause I don't have funds to frame anytime soon. Dude on ebay has sold 10 already for $140 EACH. So I will wait.

starting to think flippers are the smart ones.

seriously could have paid for my whole trip.

but of course it's just not something i could do...need to change my ways ;)
  • Maybe that's the only way they could pay for all the expenses they spent on PJ20. I mean if someone is dumb enough to pay $250 for a fucking CD, it's their own fault, not the seller... the seller is the smart one if you ask me.

I don't get it, what's so special about this recording? Has it never been released? I was listening to it in the car and I thought it was pretty cool, but I had no idea people wanted it this much.

  • I was hoping 10C ticket buyers would get one of these for the whole tour, not just Alpine. Oh well. Maybe they'll have them in Goods as a bonus like they did with the 92 NYC show.

I'm quite sure that the Vault CDs will be available in the goods section sooner or later. I can't imagine that they only made the exact quantity for TC members with tickets to Alpine! As a collector it's killing me to see them on ebay but I won't pay that much for it!
