Really, it doesn't mean squat if it was 2.2 or 4.3 gpa. If he can Congress to work together to pass his initiatives so that this country can get jobs to move forward then so be it.

Does someone want to explain how a person's degree or gpa correlates to truly judging a person's IQ or intellectual compass? Seems like nothing more than a simplistic way to dismiss or ridicule a person - especially in the political forum.

Good question. depending on how you views grades an argument can be made that the better you do in school does mean that he have more knowledge of that giving topic than someone who didn't do as well.

That and the notion that when a person goes to school it somehow equates that is the pinnacle of their education, learning curve as well as being able to display those things in some form. Many of the smartest, inventive people in the history of the world had little schooling or did poorly.

it means it was as bad as it can be in college while still graduating. Did he graduate?

It means he failed A LOT as well. D's and F's

A person's GPA doesn't really tell us much. Colleges and Universities vary greatly and grading has changed over the years. My father earned a degree in engineering at Cal Berkeley and went on to have a very successful career. He told me how, at that time, earning a "C" grade in some of those classes took a lot of effort but that was OK because "C" meant average. When I first went to college in 1969 I "earned" an "A" in a writing class in which I did very little work and attended the class only twice the entire semester (true!). A number of years later, when I went back to in school I worked extremely hard to earn a B+ in Advanced Field Biology in a class in which only one student earned an "A". And today A's are sometimes handed out to people who are nearly illiterate. (I worked in a college Human Services program in the early '00's, and saw this happen in a few other departments.) So in other words, to some degree at least the importance of a GPA is relative.

But do we really need to know Perry's GPA to asses the quality of his mind? The man doesn't believe in climate science or evolution science. That about says it all right there.

In my school a C was a 2.0 and a C+ was a 2.3. So he did not necessarily fail a lot, or at all.

When you do that poorly in school it means you droppped below 2.0 quite a bit. It is an average over 4 years.....

It's ludicrus to think he hovered around 2.2 the whole time.

1 F and several Ds. So he failed once, not a lot. D is not failing. But not that it really matters since his grades were terrible anyway.
