Why people don't understand Pearl Jam...

I have a lot of trouble trying to make people understand why this band is so important to me. The people I work with, my friends, and peers at college, and my roommate don't understand my whole "obsession", if thats what you want to call it. I tell them that its just like any other person liking any other band. But what they don't seem to grasp is that Pearl Jam is a lot more than a band. To me they are a way of understanding and communicating with the world and people around me. They bring out emotions and thoughts in me that amaze me even to this day. All everyone else sees is a band who, they think, lost their momentum about 15 years ago. They can't accept that a band changes and evolves. In this case they have changed and evolved for the best.
