    BORING!!! ;) :P 8-)

I think autobiographies should be confined to the outpourings of the - at least - over 60's. I'll let you know if I get the urge if and when that time arrives. :P

I'm probably one of the more conservative people on this board, but I have always liked Michael Moore, even when I don't agree with him. I like the arguments he puts forth, and I like that it really makes you think and investigate if what he is saying is BS or not. No one should be treated that way for voicing an opinion you don't agree with, but people are idiots and that's the way it's always been.

    Damn right.

I love Michael Moore, simply for being that guy, and having no problem with having a cross-hair on him the whole time while saying exactly what he feels. How many people get away and are comfortable with that?

As for his book.... what's in it that we haven't already heard? ;)

It looks like there's plenty in it that we haven't already heard. This is the first fully autobiographical thing he's done - though 'Roger & Me' did touch on a lot about his life in Flint, Michigan.

HAHAHAHA ... all his movies are about him!!! ;)

Ok, I'll stop shitting on your parade. Here's to hopin you enjoy the book.

I'll give Mr. Moore credit for 1 thing, he helped bring back some love for documentaries in the mainstream (even if I don't like his style of documentary). And he can certainly pimp himself, should be in marketing.

I suppose it could be described as Gonzo documentary making. But I think it's a stretch to simply say his docs are just about him.
How was Bowling For Columbine about him? Or Farenheit 9/11, or Sicko?
Sure, he appeared in those films, but they weren't 'about him'.

Anyway, each to their own. It's think it's safe to say he's not on your Christmas card list. ;)

Very safe to say. And I never saw Sicko. Wanted to despite my dislike for him. Most of the time I watch his documentaries I agree with his message, but not how it's presented. I also don't think a documentary should have a defined message, more just laying out facts. But that's my own opinion.

I had kinda forgotten about Sicko, will have to check that out sometime soon.

^^Sicko was pretty good, eye-opening. I never saw Bowling for Columbine or Farenheit 9/11. I have only seen Sicko and Capitalism: A Love Story.

I didn't get around to watching 'Sicko' until a couple of years ago. The idea of watching a documentary about sick people didn't really appeal to me.
But I actually think it's the best one he's made. And he was right on the money: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=103487&hilit=+Sicko

The flip side of that is that I think since he is such a huge fame whore people think that because he is the most famous documentary film maker he must be the best. Even though I saw Bowling for Columbine and as a documentary (regardless of the politics of it) I didn't really think it was that good. Plus I really hate the whole ambush style of interview he did a bunch of times in that movie, since the only point of that kind of move is to make the person asking the question look good and to make the other person look like an asshole no matter how he or she responds.
