No love for Mudhoney?

So I was in my hometown yesterday to see Pearl Jam for the 5th time (yeah, I was 13 in 93 at the Auditorium de Verdun; there was no way my dad was going to let me go!) but I was also looking forward to see Mudhoney open for them!!!

I was sad to see almost no love for Mudhoney from the Ten Club crowd. I think I was the only one standing up (13th row; yeah, the crazy guy jumping on the left side) with a guy in front of me (11th row I think) and 2 guys in front of the stage! But for the rest... nothing! Polite reaction, clapping hands (it fell like a golf game!). The non Ten Club people were more into it around us! Really disapointing. Mudhoney is basically the heart and soul of the Seattle scene and I think they deserve better respect from all of you!

It's hard for me to believe that none of you listened to Mudhoney back in the days?! I remember buying My Brother The Cow back in 96 and thinking that I had to get all their albums prior to this one. Mudhoney's great!!!

By the way, they are playing at La Sala Rossa in Montreal tonight and Maverick's in Ottawa tomorrow night (I'll be there!). Saw them for the first time 3 years ago; I wished I'd never missed their show at Le Cabaret in 98... while Matt Lukin was still in the band!

  • I agree, Mudhoney is killer, and to be honest this is the first time in a long time that I have been excited by the opening act on a PJ tour (usually it ain't Mudhoney opening when I can attend shows, although the Supersuckers were alright). They don't seem to play too many songs from it anymore, but Tomorrow Hit Today is one of my favorite rock albums, period.

You're right, it's been twice now for me live without any songs from Tomorrow Hits Today. I remember Mike putting that album in his top 5 of 1998 in the Rolling Stone!!! Hoping for "Poisened Water" at the Maverick's tomorrow night in Ottawa!!!
