The only downpoint to my Pj20 experience was runnin' into the same dumbass elitest douches that are all too often found at such events. The first question outta their mouths is always the same ....."How many show's you been to?" . As if they're so much of a bigger fan than any other because they've been to so many. The thing is , is that a lot of us, meaning real Pearl Jam fans ( the same Matt Camerons son likened to french fries ) would go to as many or more shows if we could. Sucks to be me I guess, but still, at least I know I'm not havin to suck off of Daddy's trust fund to fuel my passion. Had a great time over the weekend, despite runnin' into far too many of these said [deleted] Fuck em' I say.......

    I liken that question to those who I run races with. I never ask someone what thier time was. There will always be someone faster and someone slower than you. I just ask people if they had a good time. Most of the time no matter what their time was they say yes. Same with concerts. There will always be someone who has seen more shows than you.

    I look at it differently myself. We have all had these conversations at one time r another, and what I have found(at least through my personal travels), is that it is more excitement and a tribute to the band that they are that good, that ever-changing, that diverse, that you would WANT to see them as often as you could..I have seen them my fair share of times, and I am a middle-class earning man, and dont have the luxury of a trust fund... ..I have NEVER felt that someone was demeaning me, or questioning my fandom in anyway due to the number of shows I had or hadnt seen...I have friends that have seen over 250 shows, and I have friends that have seen one or none, and I dont look at them any differently and I dont think they do me...Just my opinion, but I think people read to much into things and take things out of context or too damn personal....ibtl...:-)

    Soooo, am I an eliteist if I asked people where they were from? Do you think I would be doing that to see if i travelled further for the show?

    I find it interesting to find out how many shows people have been to. It is always a good conversation starter. I look at myself as lucky to have seen them 8 times in the last year and 4 months being in the military when I could easily not be able to see them at all even if I have the money to see them.
