I had been a fan of theirs from afar, but never got deep into their stuff.

Then "Angles" came out, got good reviews, so I picked it up and loved it. Bought the rest of their stuff, and was blown away.

When they were announced for PJ20, I was super stoked, since I couldn't make their MSG show in April.

I thought they were spectacular @PJ20, and might've even been better than PJ on night 1.

They're most likely gonna tour the U.S. again in the fall. I can't wait.

They were the best sounding "opening" band this past weekend. Haters gonna hate, but these guys are great musicians. I am a big QOTSA fan too, but The Strokes getting the bigger billing made complete sense.

Yeah, I really enjoyed them but was not a huge fan before, Julian seems like a great dude, love his look with the sneakers & New Yorkers shoe laces, that's what we in Philly use to call them back in the day.

I think QOTSA and Strokes shoulda switched for one of the nights.

The Strokes definitely got a bigger applause, but I think the crowd practically double during their set. I think the sun going down and people getting ramped up for PJ had a big effect too.

I think the fans did PJ proud in the reception for both bands.

I'll be listening to the Strokes more than I ever did before after seeing them and the same goes for QOTSA.

Yea I could have seen them switching spots for one night. I just couldn't stand all the hate on this board for The Strokes leading up to the weekend. People kept ranting about how Julian was such a jerk, yet he was nothing but respectful this weekend. He gave more praise to PJ and Eddie than any other performer did.

The Strokes are a great band.....they have some great songs, and I love how they are so unassuming onstage...they make it look so easy!
  • It's great to see some love for The Strokes, they are great :D

I liked their first three records a lot, than kinda forgot about them.
I was really happy to see them back with Angles. It is a great album. Machu Picchu, You're So Right and Life Is Simple In The Moonlight are my favourites.
The new stuff sounds great live. I saw them this summer when they headlined a festival in Poland.
It was an amazing show, totally exceeded my expectations. Julian was really into it. Crowd had great energy, Julian even asked if we're psycho 8-) Great memories.

It is cool that guys in the band are PJ fans. I saw an interview with Julian saying that when he ran into Eddie for the first time, he pretended like he didn't care so he didn't scare him away
Darkness comes in waves,... tell me, why invite it to stay?

Not familiar with their work, but the song that Eddie joined in, it sounded like he kept screaming "Stone Gossard" over and over during his part in the chorus. I'm sure it was something else.

Love The Strokes...just haven't heard "Angles" yet. I will eventually.

I hope to see them live some day. Those of you that saw them at PJ20 were very lucky. They have so much respect for PJ, the whole band, especially Julian, who said Eddie sang "Juicebox" better than he did.

Don't own any Strokes albums. Aside from the few radio hits I didn't really know anything about them.

Was Fucking blown away at how good they were at PJ20.

Have yet to get their albums, but will hopefully soon.

Really good show, especially night 1.
