Dear Ten Club (Kat, Sea, Rubysdad....anyone)
Pardon my starting a thread with my questions......
But I have e-mailed you folks with these questions, yet no one responds.
What exactly do they mean by " high-grade audiophile vinyl.. " ?
Is this an 180 gram virgin vinyl mastered directly from the master analogue tapes?
Or is it a 200 gram virgin vinyl mastered directly from the master analogue tapes?
Was it mastered from analogue tapes at all, or from a digital source?
Are all copies of this record bought yesterday and those available on Jan 29th " high-grade audiophile vinyl.. "?
Original announcement/message:
" Monkeywrench and Vinyl Films Records is proud to announce the release of the limited vinyl version of the soundtrack to the film Into The Wild. The release will be celebrated with an exclusive Ten Club pre-sale beginning January 14th at 10am Pacific.
Initially released digitally and in compact disc format, Into The Wild has been recorded on to high-grade audiophile vinyl. The vinyl release includes an extended version of the album track "The Wolf", plus a bonus 7-inch single with both studio and live versions of the track "No More", a 28-page full color booklet with lyrics and exclusive liner notes by Director Sean Penn.
This very special and very limited vinyl release will be available only at pearljam.com beginning January 14th, for $20 USD plus shipping, while supplies last.
Into The Wild vinyl will be released in stores on January 29th. "

I read somewhere that the album was all done digitally so that it could be put into these different formats, and that's why they had the Itunes releases and stuff
As far as we know, it's most likely from a digital source. It's 180 gram audiophile vinyl. There won't be many copies out there and if you are not happy with it, I'm sure you can write to the Ten Club about returning it. They aim to please!
Love,
Kat
does it make a difference on if you want it know that you know?
It would have made a difference if it was NOT 180 gram high quality vinyl.
I have the CD, so if it was just standard crap 120 gram vinyl (or less), I wouldn't bother buying this.
Thanks for your concern, KDH12.
Thank you, Kat!
You guys have always pleased me!!!!
Thanks for everything!!!
(I wasnt even able to get 10c tix for the 2 shows I attended last tour, picked them up on ticketmaster, and am still happy as a pig in poo)
Aren't all PJ Vinyl's 180? Just wondering I do not have them all so i do not know
I don't think the reprints of ones like VS. Ten, or Vitalogy are. But you might want to check on that.
A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.
Yeah I have no idea and i am not much of a vinyl expert but I do know that the 10C and the band would make sure that all vinyl's are of the best possible quality IMO
I just found Ten in store the other day (sealed), and that was definitely a 180g vinyl.
