    Some of the names being speculated are from an old KHL roster so I don't think it is exactly known who was on the plane.

  • Salei's wife just had a baby a few months ago, and McCrimmon took the job for head coaching experience. Breaks my heart.

    Mother of hockey player crash victim dies of heart attack

    The mother of ice hockey player Sergey Ostapchuk, who was killed in a Yak-42 crash on Wednesday, has died from a heart attack, Vesti 24 TV station reports on Thursday. The woman died after she was told her son had not survived the crash. The plane crashed near Yaroslavl in central Russia, killing 43 people – most of them members of Lokomotiv hockey team. Two men remain in a critical condition.
