Why it was special

I dont post on these boards often, but I wanted to share what I thought was so special about this weekend. I have been following the boys since I was in college with my first show in 92. PJ has been the soundtrack to my life over the past 20 years. Almost every song brings me back to a different place in my past, some of those memories are good while others not so great. But they always bring me back to something. There are not many bands who have been around long enough to span college/post college/Marriage/Kids/etc but They have done that for many of us.....What was so special about this weekend was that I was surrounded by 35,000 people who feel the exact same way as I do. I have been to 28 shows over the past 20 years and each one stands on it's own merits. To me this stood out not because of the set list, or the venue, or the guests. It was as if 35K people were one. It was like being a a tiny little Ten Club show, yet it was with 35K people. Everyone knew every song, every lyric and most importantly it meant as much to them as it did me......To those of you who were at Alpine VAlley, I thank you for for making this weekend one I will never forget...That was what it was all about for me

    Cone on.
8 posts makes you a regular around here.

It's great to hear stories like yours but judging from some of the other threads that have been
written here, I think that 35,000 number is a little overstated.

Alpine Valley's facebook said official count was about 29,000 each night

  • Good to see another member on here that's been a member since 98. I couldn't go to the shows because I live down south and I have a wife and kid now but from what I heard the shows were amazing. A buddy of mine made the trip and was sending me texts and videos I was really jealous. He's been in the club since the first year they started it. Wish I could have been there I just hope they put out a DVD or Blu Ray or something.

Amen to that! Although late to the 10c, I've been on board from the beginning. I've often tried to explain this "community" of ours, but unless you are a part of it or even experience it, you really have no clue. This weekend, I went with "casual fans" both night. The whole thing culminated when it brought my wife to tears during Betterman Sat night.

Thank You PJ for a weekend for the ages! Wish I would be in Canada, but enjoy it those of you who are!

Those are my EXACT words. "Soundtrack to my life the last 20 years". I've said those exact words over and over. First heard them in college, just like you. Couldn't have put it better myself, cheers.
