If You Want To See Vedder Solo Show(s) and Don't have tix....

edited July 2008 in The Porch
I think by the breaking news earlier with Boston seats re-released, that this will continue for all shows. So for those of you looking for Solo tix, I would check TM from this point forward at any and all times. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when tickets will be re-released, but no doubt every arena has held back 100 or so tickets for a variety of reasons. Thus if you want to go and don't have tickets yet, don't be in despair. But don't sleep either and make sure you're checking TM on a consistent basis.

Given that NJPAC sold their own tickets, does anyone think a few will be released at the last minute? I really could use two!

not bad for Stub Hub but you could have had Orchestra for $95 a ticket with all fees from TM.

has anyone heard anything about the solo shows? I was wondering about whether or not I wanted to try to get them for Chicago (if I am not already too late), but wasn't sure if I wanted to see the solo show or hold out for when I can see PJ altogether.

I know I'll kick myself in the ass for not going if I don't even try, but I wondered how the solo vs the band was...........

solo shows is Vedder doing Into the Wild stuff along with PJ stuff and rareties. It's a different experience but I'd go if you're a PJ fan because when will PJ tour again????

going to a show by yourself isn't too bad- I've done it three times now:

    - PJ in WPB
    - Nonpoint
    - Blind Melon

I'd rather go with someone, but if you really want to go, you will do anything

do you know how many 20-somethings went to see Batman by themselves? C'mon, seeing Eddie Vedder acoustic show? This is something that many have dreamed of for many years. I for one after missing Mansfield 3 when I probably could have gone will thoroughly enjoy this experience (albeit a different one than PJ but still a blast).

I'm the old chick, too. If you're ever in NY to see the boys and you are alone, let me know. Then we can be the two old chicks high fiving each other and having young folks feel hopeful that they will be able to do the same in years to come.

I don't think that you can compare going to a movie by yourself and a show. A movie is simple, you get a seat, the lights go out- no one is really talking. A concert isn't so bad when the bands are playing, but the in between times are brutal solo

Ok, sounds like a definite plan..........

you know, it's so funny being this age because there is such a fine line between looking tastefully attractive and spiking your hair all over the place to look like some kind of science project (i.e., Zack and Cody's mom......)

    you know??

Well, I had to google Zack and Cody's mom because my three daughters are between the ages of 19 and 23 and there is no more of that nonsense going on in my house. LOL

I go to shows alone all the time. I used to feel self-conscious about being the weird old guy, flying solo at shows, but then I thought....screw it. I was seeing bands in clubs before half of the crowd was even born. They should be so lucky if in 20 years they're still hitting as many shows as I do.

Don't let going solo ever stop you from going. You won't regret seeing the show, but you'll most likely regret missing it.

Besides, everyone there is just worrying and thinking about themselves...nobody is pointing and giggling at the old guy. All of that stuff is just in your head...besides who cares what anyone else thinks?
