Well I cAN NOT write about politics anymore. the west memphis have been freed. One 'nugget confessed to murdering 3 eight year old boy scouts!!!! . Ed sang with Young, and the Dixie Chicks at a stupid tribute in Memphis three weeks ago? Now three psychopaths have been released ooohhh joy. Let's rock in the free world when the Memphis three confesses to murdering Ed's family, or Young's vintage amp, or even the Dixie chick's hair stylist? thankfully there are 4 other members of Pearl Jam. I'm done.. stick a fork in me.. moving on...

The guilty plea is a legal maneuver so the Prosecution does not lose the original conviction. If that were the case, then any case that was tried by that prosecution team and the police who came up with the evidence and confessions would allow inmates convicted by them to request a re-trial. It also makes it impossible for them to sue the State in a civil suit.
    Question:
If you were given a choice... plead guilty and get off of Death Row and out of prison tomorrow...
    OR
Maintain your innocence and remain on Death Row and in prison until the courts system gets around to schedule a new trial... in which you would remain in jail throughout the trial... which may go on for another 2 or 3 years.
    What would you do?
Me? I'd confess to killing Kennedy and the Lindberg baby.
    ...
You SHOULD be pissed at the Police and Prosecution for letting the actual murderer(s) roam free fror the past 20 years. They are the ones who fucked up and wanted to close the case by railroading 3 misfit kids.
    ...
But, I do agree with what you are saying... it is time for you to go.

This is a repeat of a previously written message:

"Alford plea (see North Carolina v. Alford, 400 U.S. 25, 91 S.Ct. 160 (1970)) (when a defendant maintains his or her innocence with respect to the charge to which he or she offers to plead guilty)"

I would rather die than confess to something I did not do!
    We all meet our makers.
    The afterlife should be good?

Seriously.. kill me.. I would never do that or confess, that
I did something I didn't do, that is that stupid...

This thread has nothing to do with Bush. It's closed.
