Editorial Reviews
The box set gives a unique insight into the creation of this landmark album and will feature a re-master of the original double album, Pete Townshend's previously unheard demos including songs that didn't make it onto the original album, an exclusive eight track 5.1 sound DVD, a deluxe hard-back book, previously unseen personal notes, photographs, memorabilia and other exclusive material.

Lotta fans have been complaining about the only-8-track 5.1 audio dvd.

The multis exist. The entire album has been remixed before, just not in 5.1 - so there really is no reason.

  • this just rolled in and for fans of this album/movie, this package is a must have=worth the $100 for sure

can't wait to dig into the 100 page hard-back book with a new essay by pete...also some unseen personal notes, photographs, lyrics and memorabilia from the period

what still fascinates me about this project was how it was based on real times aka the mods vs the rockers

this was my favorite album growing up and it never ever got old

it captured the importance of music and youth, so well together, in one concept/package

it is pete at his absolute very best. pure genius

hopefully the rumors will come true and pete and roger will tour quadrophenia this year

on a side note...when pj/ed decided to start playing songs from this album at their live shows i was floored.it took me at least 5 shows till i got love reign and another 4-5 shows later to get the real me. those songs will always be my #1 and #2 picks for covers choices that the band does. i just can't describe what it meant to me that the band choose these songs

i know this album meant a lot, to a lot of people, and for those who don't yet know, then, may i recommend you spend the time. rent the movie and buy the cd. it's impossible not to get the glory of it

I have read all the comments, nobody said anything about vinyl... that is a surprise... 133 is too much for me right now, even the 55 plus for the vinyl, especially since I am waiting for the AV stuff and the PJ20 coloured vinyl and/or the PJ20 glow in the dark vinyl...

I think I will just wait for popmarket releases it sometime in the future and get a good copy of the good old vinyl in the meantime...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...

  • btw..
this new box set doesn't contain the remastered vinyl
that is sold separately and as i have the original vinyl i wasn't in a hurray to get another copy of
    the album(yet)
the cool thing about this new box set is the writings about quadrophenia by pete
pete took a lot of time with this project and the demos are cool as well
the album has been remastered and put on cd in this package so that will do for now
also pete did a bunch of songs in dvd audio which is amazing

cheap seats $39 plus service charge. no real need to sit front row for this tour.
just be in the building. good luck.

  • guess eddie is gonna have to wait till the 2013 leg of the who quad tour to see some shows :o

the who quad tour: nov 1-dec 9

    eddie tour: oct 31 - dec 4th

but maybe ed will be attending the newark/philly/conn(ct) shows(last 3 on the who tour leg#1)
that's his only options as the tours don't even come close to each other
and all this time i was wishing eddie was going to be the ace face!

As a tie-in with the new Quad documentary, the Super Deluxe Director's Cut is available for $99.98. Plus you get a tee shirt (it's a little bright  ).

I love this set. The book has me really looking forward to Pete's autobiography.

No word yet but I have to think they will. There's a lot of interest in owning it.
