Just listened to the performance of black from Bonnaroo

At the end I like how Ed sang "we didn't belong together" sent shivers down my spine.

I like how the song has evolved over the years, I always thought the MTV version with "we belong together" at the end was powerful but this new verison was just as powerful. Hit me pretty hard when I heard it.

Another version is the Ottawa 05, where he sang " All the stars in the sky, I thought you were up in my, still I wonder, I wonder., I wonder..... you're so long gone, we've all come along, still I wonder, still I wonder....with each breath I know you're there...somewhere...I wonder, I still wonder "

I'd heard the "We Belong Together" tag a couple times but through the haze of pot smoke I heard We Didn't Belong Together and I knew I was hearing smthg special; yet, depressing/sad, but it was all goooood

Black has become crappy for me since Stone switched the lovely and depressing electric guitar for the uninspired and cheesy acoustic guitar. Both time in Bs.As all I wanted to to was go on stage and tear that guitar apart!! I WANT THE ELECTRIC GUITAR BACK!!!

Amen. I too think this version is one of the best, maybe not "the" version, but its up there. When I listen to this song from live boots I notice how sometimes Ed changes the tag from "We belong together" to "We didn't belong together". I had recently broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years due to many issues, but it ended fairly well. We are still friends, but that love that once was just wasn't there. When I heard the tag coming I wondered which version it would be. It was the "We didn't belong together" tag and I broke out into tears. It really fit my feelings and emotions at the time. A really touching moment for my first PJ show.
