I'm not sure if this has been posted, I'm not seeing a topic about it here in AMT, but I'm sure everybody has heard, and I was curious to see what you have to say. Although I'm pretty sure what most everybody thinks about stupidity like this.
Apparently Michele Bachmann thinks that the hurricanes and earthquakes are God's way of influencing American politics. Of course now she has backtracked and said it was a joke, but given the people that lost their lives in the hurricane, that doesn't make her look any better.

I saw this thread and didn't have my glasses on and I honestly though it said, "Batshit: Hurricanes and Earthquakes..."
Hail, Hail!!!
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
"Washington, D.C. you'd think by now they'd get the message, an earthquake, a hurricane, are you listening? The American people have done everything they possibly can, now it's time for an act of God and we're getting it."
Michelle Bachmann
...
There's the difference between Bachman and Palin:
Bachmann says, "I was kidding...".
Palin would say, "What I said was true... that when God doesn't like something or someone... well, by god, He does something about it. God heard the prayers of the American people and said, "Well... since those Washington insiders won't do anything to get this country back from those Liberal Eliteists... Well, gosh darnit... I'm gonna send them a message.". So, He makes an earthquake here... a hurricane there... and there you gottit."
Hail, Hail!!!
It's like they say, you can't teach a momma grizzly to put lipstick on Paul Revere's pitbull.
there is one thing the GOP do not do well and that is comedy.
they are brilliant at unintentional comedy however......
and this is from a PRESIDENTIAL candidate...
do we have an emoticon for stupid?
i could just as easily say that the hurricane was a punishment from god for what we are doing in the middle east, or for how we are raping his/her creation for it's resources...
god can be a handy and convenient messenger...
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis
You said it, catefrances!
The only thing funny about this is how when people make REALLY dumb statements like Bachmann's and they get called on it their answer is usually, "Well, I was only joking. Yeah, and if you believe that I gotta bridge for sale. Sheesh! And this woman is actually in the running for president?! Ain't gonna happen, baby.
-Eddie Vedder, "Smile"
see, as i said a few months ago, this woman will speak her way out of the nomination... it is going to be a fun next 12 months with her gaffe a day pace...
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
I have begun to wonder if they plant these people like Bachmann in the race early, with the intentions of making them look stupid, so that the next candidate looks like a genius.
I think it's a conspiracy created by comedians and late night talk show writing staff to keep them in full employ.
Hail, Hail!!!
