The part that probably makes you "nuts" is the fact that you felt it necessary to come to a Pearl Jam message board and choose a forum with the description of "Politics, current events - reasoned debate and discussion - we can all learn something new" and then decided it would be a good choice to post the message you did. That and typing "LOL" following "Will I ever find someone who just feels 'right'?"

But, uh, whatever floats your boat.

Wow, that was one of the most drastic edits I've ever seen in a forum. For those reading my post and wondered what the hell I was talking about, just know that the original thread was titled "True love...." and was some silly crap about the original poster wondering about how their current love interest looks perfect on paper, but in reality they are wanting something else and don't want to be alone or some garbage like that. It had absolutely nothing to do with Obama like it has been edited to try and be about now. Haha

    i agree.

i read the op when i first got out of bed and was going to reply to it after i got back from running some errands and i came back and could not find the thread...i just now found it and i noticed that the original post had been heavily edited and now i can't figure out what part we are supposed to answer..

the gop frontrunenrs are clinically insane. so yes I would vote for Obama over them.

Ron Paul would be more interesting. Love him internationally. domestically not so much. But Ron Paul would pander to no party.

I didn't vote for him the first time around however, I would this time around. The GOP has no one other than possibly Ron Paul that I find interesting or garners my attention enough to vote for him. I would have loved to see the GOP candidates handle what President Obama had to take on back in '08. Then again maybe NOT! :o

i would vote for obama again if the choice came down to voting for him or voting for a republican...

i think obama needs a serious primary challenge, and at this point i am more inclined to vote for an unnamed democratic challenger. a primary challenge is the only thing that will hold him to account and force him to fight to keep the promises he made to the american people. i think he should be required to slug it out in a primary and if he wins that then and only then should he start taking shots at the gop challengers...he needs to get his own party in line before he does anything because he has alienated and even thumbed his nose at his supposed "base", myself included...

as far as ron paul goes, the man is going to HAVE to pander to one of the parties to get elected. if not he will not win a majority in any state besides maybe texas. he needs the cash from one of the national parties to hope to even compete...

I've been thinking on similar lines. I keep thinking maybe Obama is saving his best plays for the second half. I'm disappointed in his -so far- not keeping most of his promises but there's no way I'd vote for any of the (adjective) Repulican candidates out there. So far it looks like, yes, I'll vote for Obama again and hope he surprises us with some good moves the second time around.

i think he sees now that the republicans in congress will never ever ever work with him on any piece of legislation so he is going to have to have big wins in the house and senate to be able to accomplish anything if he wins the second term.

i don't know, but with the way that the tea party is polling these days those huge gains for the dems are very possible...

    I voted for Obama.

I will not vote for him again, he has been a very unimpressive leader in my opinion.

I may not vote republican though, wait and see I guess. Maybe I'll write in a vote.

Just curious, who would you write in? (I actually wrote in Pat Paulsen, the commedian one year- politics can get that frustrating!)

Ah ha! I've argued in the past- [no, rephrase that because no one here has ever answered my posts about this one way or another]- in the past I have stated the idea that, since the president is only one person and that one person has to answer to many other very powerful people who are not as visible, perhaps instead of a president we just need a figurehead (like a "king") to represnt us who looks good, stands up for us, etc. but of whom we expect little more and leave the governing to a committee.

Well, Godfather, you have provided the pefect solution for just what I've described. No more presidents. From now on we have, ladies and gentlemen:
