So let me get this straight?

I live in the northeast and in less than a week I'm going to experience an earthquake and a hurricane? What's next a volcano eruption?

    I have a friend who swears all this wierd geological squirming is due to the poles shifting. I know it is theorized that the poles have shifted in the past but if I'm not mistaken, this takes a looooooong time to happen. Of course if it did happen quickly it would be a bit like racing down the freeway at 90 MPH and throwing the car into reverse (I know a guy who did this once- not recommended.)
