but knowing what was the fallout makes it ring hollow for me. if that offends some.....sorry
I totally agree. 9/11 epitomizes what is the best in us and what is the worst. I do not say this maliciously. I see this as a sad reality. And this is all I have to say on the subject.

well fortantally all you guy's really do is talk shit with no real action behind your beliefs..arm chair anti-partriots
Godfather.
No real action, eh?
Hm... I've been to an awful lot of protests, write a political blog, donate my time and money to causes close to me, volunteer to help my community and spend very little time in an arm chair.
And what have yqou done other than wave a flag and chant "USA USA" a football games?
I don't protest much..been to a few but they always turn into wasted time.
I always try to see both sides but this place is like a infested boil with all the "bad American" bullshit that you guys seem to come up with every time something good about America is brought up.
I'll tell ya what ..try going to a real biker run/ rally and try telling some club members from the major clubs all your "America is bad bullshit" ,a lot of the members of those clubs are vet's and I can tell you for sure that any anti American BS wont last too long there.
I remember when the media was interviewing people about the possibilty of war(desert storm) at a run I was at and they asked me what thought and told them all those protesters with their signs might have their hearts in the right place I don't know..but they're wasting their time cause we are going to war "don't f*%k with America...that got a rise out of em the next day a bunch of my friends call me telling me they bleeped me on the interview and said I didn't think they'd even air it

I walked past the trade center site last year. its hard to believe what happened there and all the chaos in the aftermath -- but the photos of people helping each other are incredible.
it isn't really about bad America though godfather...I think they see our country the way it is and want to make it better...and in their opinion some of the things that made us great are also making us fall. No great civilization is immune to the end...the greeks, the romans, the UK...all vast empires now gone really. We are now seen as the great imperialists and I cannot say I disagree. Nation building, democracy pushing, war, all of these things are ways to take over countries...whether they become a legal territory or not.
It may seem like constant USA bashing, but as I have come to realize that, although some of it is pretty grandiose, it is all rooted in reality.
It all really stems from where you think motivations for actions lay...if you think that evil businessmen are making all the decisions with the express purpose of keeping people poor then you will see the world much differently, see America much differently than someone else.
so calling it an infested boil (kind of mixed metaphors there) is kind of harsh. I think there are a few that will never see the good in anything done by the American government...but that doesn't mean they hate Americans...
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb

Well there's a problem right there.
The idea that pointing out the things your country needs to improve is "anti-american" is a pretty scary idea... it's what I was talking about earlier... being told that questioning your leaders is "unpatriotic." When it's actually.. Very American.
for people who blather on so much about free speech, you'd think some of you would figure out what that actually... means.
and I apoligize for the boil comment ...was kinda harsh/gross
Godfather.
Godfather, I did say the BEST as well as the worst.
Real actions to go with my beliefs? Does organizing peaceful gatherings in my community to promote awareness of climate change count or is that a sport? Does volunteering 1000 hours at our local health library or writing tons of letters (as opposed to "one click" on the computer activism) count or are those too much of an arm chair kind of thing? I could go on and on but boasting about these kind of actions sort of nullifies them in my mind... but I hope you get my point.
