Don't get mad at me! (it's about vinyl)

I'm going to ask a question about vinyl, so please don't read if it's gonna piss you off in any way, I know there are a lot of threads like this around and it seems people get a bit over it....

I just want to know what a fair price to pay for Live On Two Legs LP, opened and played but in good unscratched condition, would be? It's difficult to know because I'm kind of at the bottom of the world (NZ) and I have been searching ebay but haven't seen it on there yet. I just want to know if my friend got ripped off or got a bargain with the one he bought me. I am hoping he got a bargain! He would like to know also, which is why I said I'd post this.

I thought this would be the best place - please don't get mad, I just want a kind of ballpark figure, US dollars is fine, I'll convert. Thanks very much! It's hard to suss from here.

Oi PJ - Aotearoa 2009? Please?

Here's my guess, although I haven't been paying too much attention... At least $50 US, probably $60-$75???

I saw a LO2L vinyl in pretty crappy condition go for $75 the other day. So if yours is in near mint condition, I'd say around $90-$100

it really depends on when you look .... you can sometimes find it for $50 but its rare (i wanna say very rare) I would say the $75 - $100 would be a estimate depending on how many there is for sale at the same time.

Thanks kind people! Looks like he did not get ripped off after all. I'm lucky to have friends like him, that's for sure...

I paid $75 a couple of years ago for my copy. While it's more than I wanted to pay, it was a pretty good deal.

    And it sounds so goooood.

It's hard to get most of the vinyl here in NZ, LO2L is almost impossible. I bought it when it came out (actually it was a gift). How much did you (he) get it for?

I got one for nm- condition at my local record store in princeton for 49.99.
I traded a lady on here for a sealed avacado. The live on 2 leggs was in better shape and harder to find. I have not seen an avacado around here in years so I jumped at the chance. I think it has a lot to do with what you really want and what you are willing to pay for it. I try to pay no more than 50 an album. I think she got a good deal out of the trade though and was happy I think...

    hey kiwi(s)!

He paid $61NZD for it. I thought that was a fair price but then his brother said we were mad and that he got taken for a ride - seems not though after I've asked people round these parts!

And as for PJ vinyl in NZ yea man i totally agree. When each album came out I ordered the vinyl, so I"m pretty lucky I've got Ten through Riot Act (not counting Lost Dogs and RVM) all on vinyl. But missed out on the avocado cause I live at the bottom of the world and all the other people in the world beat me to it! I am still sure my copy is out there somewhere... lucky enuf to get LO2L! very happy with the gift giver! not a fanatical collector, but I've bought vinyl from the very beginning, so it would be nice to keep my cllection alive!

Thanks everyone for your help, too

I go to the largest record convention in the country in Austin every year and the people that sell records have a pretty good idea what they're worth. My sisters boyfriend is a huge record dealer also, all these guys have price guides just like ones for baseball cards that they use to determine prices. The simple fact of the matter is that the only people willing to pay these ridiculous prices for Pearl Jam records are Pearl Jam fanatics.

So I assume they go buy the price guides, hell my friend GAVE me Binaural on vinyl 2 years ago, I bought Avocado on the PJ website when it first came out. I have been buying vinyl since 1977 when I was 8 years old and have thousands of LP's, my advice to people is when a band releases a new album on vinyl, BUY IT RIGHT AWAY as there are limited copies and it will be out of print in no time. I am just happy I own every Pearl Jam studio album on vinyl and actually have 2 each of Ten and Vs., because there is no way in hell I would pay these ridiculous prices people are charging.
