    I heard a rumor that the "Apple Tax" will be abolished and that Apple devices will be sold at reasonable prices.

    that sort of what jumped into my mind. dude has had a long history of medical issues and quite frankley, doesn't look good imo.

    He has pancreatic cancer, and he does look very sickly lately, probably doesn't have much longer.

    I'm not a mac guy, but he really is a genius. Creating Mac's and then when the company was in the shitter after he left, he came back and creates the ipod.... then when that became a gigantic success, he did the ipod touch.... and then the iphone (let alone the ipad) and really started a whole new industry of technology. He's a guy with genuine vision, and while I look forward to seeing some of the obvious things fixed (like flash on iphones, or 4g, etc) I'm guessing that his products will become less unique over time if he does not stay involved with the design.

    I've wondered about that for a while.

    But I have to believe he's built up a leadership team with an expansive scope when it comes to the vision for the company. That will be the true test over time _ will they continue to innovate at the rate at which they historically have?

    ...and who knows the reason for his resignation? I mean, we're guessing its his health, and yes we all know he's been ill, and maybe that's part of it, but maybe there's a board of directors that all disagree with him on certain things, and he doesn't feel like arguing with them, so maybe the company's other leaders want to make some changes that he doesn't, and if he's close to departing anyway, why not do it a little earlier before all the stress. Just a theory.
