best line of the ESPN book involves steve jobs.

espn had just come out with their phone (remember that thing??). the CEO of EsPN at the time saw steve jobs at an event. he walked over and shook Jobs hand. Jobs told him that their phone was the dumbest idea he had ever seen, turned around, and walked away.

    fucking hilarious

great question...I'd probably go with microsoft because they seem to be more influential in how day to day business is conducted. apple is more consumer related, microsoft is more business oriented. that's my view anyway.

Just heard on the radio that CNN is reporting Steve Jobs has resigned from Apple! Poor guy has had a rough time. I personally think what Apple has done in the last decade is incredible.

    Gates

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gives millions to charity and school improvement programs (like inner city schools all over the nation)-though the big news here today is that the top executive at the foundation is resigning.

Bill is planning on giving away most of his fortune-he will NOT be leaving a lot of money to his kids. He has said he wants his kids to know the value of money and the gift of charity.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
