Sharing your music with the office

One girl I work with shares her music which is fine by me, breaks the silence.
Everyone's been asking me to bring in some music.
I have always been shy sharing my music, I find it to be personal for me, it's my own thing.
Anyone else feel the same or am I just rat fuck?

I'm kind of the same way. I guess I just don't want to have to listen to criticism from people who listen to Katy Perry.
We used to have a departmental (emphasis on "mental") radio going. The reception eventually got so bad we opted to play CDs. No one else was willing to get one from their car, and I happen to have one at my desk (for early mornings, before everyone else gets in).
So, we listened to QOTSA's "Lullabies to Paralyze."
One person said they liked it. No one else had an opinion, even when pressed.
I would be very reluctant to put something on that I am an avid fan of (PJ included), as I have quite a temper. One ignorant comment is likely to send me into a frenzy of verbal evisceration.
I feel you though, it is kind of personal to share your music like that. I always feel like I'm being judged when I get to decide what's playing. I usually am too, I don't know anyone that has the same taste in music I do. Of course you could look at it like you are expanding their horizons, but most people aren't very open to getting into new music.

I plug my desk speakers into my iPod and keep it at a cubical level. But my taste in music is superb so they can all suck it.

guess you can't argue with somebody that has their own radio show.
just out of curiousity, not trying to "bag" on your as the kids say....do you get rating numbers and if so, are you pleased with yours.
We're currently developing a rating card.
Truthfully, I don't care too much what they are. Obviously, I'd like to have more listeners... but overall, I just enjoy playing the music I want to on a free media radio station. I know I have loyal listeners on and off this board. For those of you on, you know who you are and you know you're all bad asses.

That was like me and my former boss at my former employer.
Same taste in music as me, part of the reason we got along great!
