does ev use standard tuning?

was just messing around with tuning down sounded pretty good. wondered if mr. vedder did the same to save on his voice..?

    I remember reading someone posting that since backspacer, so 09-10 live, they have tuned down for Ed's voice

    I think it's pretty much the whole album, plus the self-titled album. There are probably more songs that are tuned down.

    Daughter is in G - obv EV doesn't play guitar on it, just saying. There's a handful in Drop D as well, but that might as well be standard.

    Definitely The Fixer. I know Gonna See My Friends, Got Some, The Fixer, Amongst the Waves, Supersonic, and Force of Nature are tuned down when played live. I really couldn't tell with Unthought Known when they played it in Hartford.I think Speed of Sound is the same as the album.

    Are you guys saying they tune flat? or just play those songs in a different key?

    Unthought Known is played in normal tuning live. Trust me, I'm cursed with perfect pitch. :D

    cool thanks. yea seeing a lot of backspacer live it's def down a notch. should have recorded supersonic down a 1/2..sounds awesome.

    as for the solo stuff i'm gonna play it down a 1/2 cause i can't sing :D

    If only tuning down a half step solved my vocal ineptness.
