The West Memphis Three
I think this is my first post... So it's nice to meet all of you!
I know a lot of good bands support the WM3, of course Pearl Jam and the Rollins Band. I've been a supporter since I saw Paradise Lost 1 & 2 back in 2001... I hadn't heard of them before that. Are there any more supporters here?
I had gone to a Rollins benefit for them a few years ago in DC. It seemed like I was the only one there that knew who they were.

It has been discussed many many times, I think you will find all you want when you search the subject.
(if they hadn't already known)
it's not a surprising situation. there are so many innocent people in jail sent there by corrupt or incompetent police.(a high percentage of them are "non-white")
America...you are now living in a police state!
The documentaries on the WM3 are great, if you ever get a chance to see them... "Paradise Lost" and "Paradise Lost 2: Revelations". Or... WM3.org.
I've never read "Devil's Knot", but my library doesn't carry a lot of good books like that.

That’d be me.
I used to go back and forth on this issue until I read the confession made by Jessie Misskelley months after he’d been in prison (which is actually hard to find, especially because the WM3 website doesn’t provide it, for obvious reasons). He had absolutely nothing to gain at that point by confessing except clearing his conscious. Damien and Jason were psychopaths, poor Jessie was taken advantage of.
After watching Paradise I and II it is still clear to me that those guys never got a fair trial and the prosecution team and police force had a combined IQ of 90.
i read devils knot this summer and also watched the two films a while back..its hard to believe these kids murdered the three little boys..i would advise everyone to read the book..i couldnt put it down...the films are also very good but theres more details in the book..

When Ed was in Toronto for the solo tours he brought this up and said he had met with Damien Echols and he swore on his Daughter that he is not guilty. I hope this case keeps progressing in the right direction.

Interesting News from ATA--
Don't know if the ad had anything to do with this big bang or not:
the judge issued a ruling just before 5:00 today (just before running out the back door?) that he would not hear any of the DNA evidence in dismissing the petition for a new trial. If you've seen the state's response to Damien's filing on our website, that's what the judge used in the content of his order changing the wording only slightly.
We haven't seen the document. We got word from a reporter, so check the newspaper tomorrow for any more details on this. We've got a Jonesboro TV reporter working on getting through to the judge at his house tonight. We don't know what his plans are in regards to the rule 37 petitions for Jason and Jessie, whether he'll hear those or not.
I'm wondering if it is normal for a judge to release his information to the press before sending anything to the lawyer's? Dennis Riordan, Damien's lawyer, should just now be in receipt of the judge's statement by fax from a reporter. Craighead Co. court does nothing electronically with lawyers, press, anyone--only hard copies.
We do know that Mr. Riordan should be making a statement, or giving us one to make, tomorrow after getting the full details. He and Lorri were both ecstatic at the news of a non-hearing in Damien's case. It is very good news to be able to move on to federal court in LR.
******* Anyone interested in any information regarding this case, pm me.
I work closely with the Arkansas chapter of supporters.
