I have Californication (1999) and By The Way (2003) and would like to purchase Stadium Arcadium (2006) too but I'm a little reluctant for it.

I actually really enjoyed stadium. The best songs on that album where the non radio singles. Has some amazing songs:

    slow cheetah
    Desicration smile
    wet sand
    Especially in Michigan
    she looks to me
    storm in a tea cup
    stadium Arcadium
    warlocks
    hard to concentrate.

sure they are some slower numbers, but I have to say "wet sand" is one of the best songs they have written. love it. 8-)

I list this record because it illistrates to me, the importance of checking out albums. I always thought of RHCP as a radio singles band, but they have some great stuff. Really enjoy some of the early stuff on what hits? too.

Another chili peppers B side I love is called Rolling sly stone. I shit you not, heard a chili peppers cover band play this once, and it was amazing. Thanks to a fellow member on this board I was able to find the only live version they did, My God, it rules.

I totally agree with Kyle. Their best songs are the ones not played on the radio.....Stadium, I though, was a great album! It has really great songs with it. Usually the songs I don't care for are ones that are over played. The new song took a little while to grow on me. But now I think it's really catchy and I will probably hate it in a couple of months.... But none the less, I am a little excited for the new album and will check it out...I am sad that John left again and doubt the new guitarist will be half as good.

I have that live double cd. It was only released in the UK. Bought it off eBay. It has two previously unreleased songs, the other one being Leverage Of Space.

I think the whole thing works pretty good. There's a few tunes I'd cut, but only b/c there's already somethin pretty similar goin on. Great sampling of all the stuff RHCP have done since they hit it big with BSSM.

I think the singles were even pretty good. Dani was a crummy first single, but Snow and Charlie are both great songs.

I'd add Torture Me, Readymade, Animal Bar and Turn It Again to the list of great tunage on the album.

I think By The Way is perfect from beginning to end. Terribly underrated.

    Not huge on Californication.

As long as the new guy moves further away from generic Froosh style stuff like the single I'll hope for somethin solid.
