Wow, I am impressed. That is one day he, or any guy, would want to screw up.

  • pffffft......that's nothing.......my cousin's boyfriend did the same thing, in their backyard. He surprised my cousin with a night out at a spa, and a sleepover there at the hotel. He stayed up all night with his friends and his neighbour tearing down their fence to make added room and built a stage, put up all the tables and tents themselves, etc. She came home the following afternoon to find 3 different wedding dresses to choose from, and she came downstairs, and there we all were, waiting poolside and she and he got married. It was fabulous.

I don't know a single woman who would have liked that. Even though the guy had the best intentions, and got ideas from her, there is no way he got it exactly the way she would have planned it. It is "her day" after all, and he kind of hijacked it. And of course she "loved it", what was she going to do, freak out in front of all those people and the camera? I'm sure she was touched by the thought and effort, and enjoyed the surprise, but I'm willing to be that she and many brides out there would prefer to plan the wedding themselves, or at least have a hand in the decisions, and not have it popped on them like that without any say in the matter.

I do......my cousin. there are also plenty of women out there that don't do the whole white dress and wedding cake gala.........how many people do it in Vegas in front of Elvis? How many people do it on a beach in Mexico? There are more women out there that like this sort of thing than you think.

Yes, that's why I said "I". I know not every woman is interested in a traditional wedding. But the thing is whether it is the beach in Mexico, or the Elvis impersonator in Vegas, it is her choice, she doesn't show up for a party and find out she's being put on the spot to get married without any say in the ceremony, except for to go along with it or make a scene and leave.

I agree with that... If it worked for them, great, but for something as important as a wedding, I would think a bride would want to at least participate in the decisions along the way.

Anticipation to any great event is more than half the fun...

    like a PJ concert ;)

I'd rather be planning bonding and loving those days coming up to my wedding....
    that is living! :D

It was kind, I guess but I hope she doesn't feel cheated one day. She missed out on
some memories of a lifetime they could have made together.

That's what I thought too. I told my co-worker this would be like my wife picking out my Fantasy Football team for me.

Yes I saw it and you have to know this will fly with your woman. You just have to know.
