After spending the day blowing off the family, I'm likely getting divorced tomorrow. Don't even have a sweet poster to show for it. Dang.

Let me clarify that all told it was fun!! Had a great (albeit frustrating) time trying to figure out the clues, sometimes even made it to the fill-out form but didn't punch it fast enough. This was by far the most thinking I've done all summer. Thanks to the Powers-That-Be for putting this all together!

yeah. that one was weird because I swear the clue said something along the lines of" the fiddler can be found across the street from this auckland skyscraper" . i took that to mean you had to guess the skyscraper
If you knew Auckland, there's not really a bunch of skyscrapers to guess! The Skytower is the obvious choice and there just happens to be a bar across the street called "The Fiddler".

Regardless of the wording, you had to physically be there. So unless you were in Auckland, you would've lost anyway. But for the record, I guessed the sky tower as well.

Pearl Jam treasure hunt in Auckland
    Entertainment Thursday, August 18th, 2011

A worldwide treasure hunt by grunge rockers Pearl Jam leading up to the release of their new album included a prize hidden in Auckland.

The album, the soundtrack to their upcoming documentary Pearl Jam Twenty, includes 29 live tracks recorded during shows around the world and is being released on September 20.

The band hid the album’s song titles on posters in cities where each of the tracks was recorded and used clues to reveal them online as they were found by fans.

Track six on the album, Blood, was recorded during an Auckland concert and the song title was found at The Fiddler bar in Auckland this afternoon by a fan called Chris Barry.

It took him about an hour to find the poster after the clue – “A fiddler plays across the street from this Auckland skyscraper” – was posted online.

Other tracks titles already revealed included Release recorded in Italy, Alive in Seattle, Garden in Zurich and Why Go in Hamburg, Germany.

    ...

    No Canadian treasures. D'oh! :(

Looks like my chances are running out. Current one looks like it's at Grand Central Station and the next 2 are live tracks from Seattle so I'm guessing they'll be physical locations as well. I've been at this all day and don't know if I can keep going into the night with it. But even though I haven't won, it was really a lot of fun. So to the Club I'd like to say thanks for setting it up!

I was thinking it could be on the missed connections board of Craigslist, but no luck...

awwww crap I didn't search for better man with a space in it!

    Aw bummer!

So in case this helps folks who came so close feel better, I saw the poster up close (since someone else beat me to NBC studios) and it wasn't ALL THAT. (probably a bit of sour grapes speaking).

It was still a lot of fun though!

You definitely have a point about the poster not being "all that." But, as one of the lucky ones, I will tell you the "chase" and excitement of finding one was the point. And now to have something cool as a conversation piece is priceless. Plus, I was lucky enough to chase mine down with 3 of my sons. And, this morning they woke up talking about it - so PJ20 will now be a lifelong memory for them even though they don't get to go to the show (but I do). They're even eager to see the movie when it comes on PBS (though my 12 year old noticed on the poster it's rated R - good thing they've heard Eddie's F's enough on the stereo that this R shouldn't bother him). So, yeah - I don't disagree - if you don't have one, it's not like your missed out on a piece to the Sistine Chapel, and you certainly shouldn't feel that way.

But, my it's mighty nice to have gotten one....
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

For sure. Plus they are all numbered the same as the track they represented, so that's pretty cool and collectible.

I wouldn't know, I didn't get one :lol::lol: But trust me if I did, I would have been hi-fiving myself all night and not have gotten any sleep. Congrats on getting one!

I wish the poster planters had also captured pictures of poster winners to post them. That would have been fun to see!

Yeh! It was fun. I lied to my boss to go out for lunch earlier than scheduled. I came back emty handed. Its worth a try. It is not often they include the Philippines in things like this. Their only concert here was way back 1996. We are not even included in the PJ20 Screening. Asia is the largest continent and we only got 4 Screenings. All in Singapore, one of the smallest Country in the world.
  • Awwww! I just saw Manila City Hall this morning.

I hope they visit Manila soon. Didn't have the chance to watch them in '95.

Geez, I don't know if I can handle more of this , that scavenger hunt was pretty heart-stopping for me :lol::lol:
