Excellent article. I think the Tea-Party constitutionalists (or those that say they are) who also support any law regarding morality, family values, or large military spending are idiots.

When the Tea Party first came out... it's intent was to get rid of ALL sitting Representatives, regardless of political party. 'Incumbant' was not going to be re-elected. I was all for that and backed them.
    ...
    That lasted about a week.
What happened? FOX News became their spokeman... and the way it panned out, FOX Celebrities didn't relay the Tea Party's original message... they rallied around their Republican on-air talent. Karl Rove, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich are all or were on the FOX payroll. The Tea Party Rallies soon became FOX News sponsored events with meet and greets with Hannity, Coulter, O'Rielly, etc...
The Tea Party got hi-jacked by the Republican Party and the battle cry was 'Fire Them ALL... as long as there is NOT an (R) next to their name'! The Tea Party is now the militant wing of the Republican Party and will carry out the whole Guns n' Jesus to kill abortion thing. There isn't anything independent about the Tea Party anymore.
Just... take a look at 'their' candidates... Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin? The only one that is even close to being Independent is Ron Paul... who SHOULD run as an Independent (Libertarian)... and divorce his name from the sham that the Republican Party has become. The Republicans will NEVER run Ron Paul because he is not in line with the party line. Palin, Bachmann, on the other hand... puppets for the Republican Party. Nothing independent about them.

I wouldn't say they are idiots, just hypocrites.

There is a divide in what I see as the "Tea Party". Most are the same old Republicans who want to cut most social welfare spending, but not touch the defense budget, and want to push their conservative social issues.

The few I identify with is the limited gov't in all areas and message of liberty. Ron Paul is the best example of that message. I understand we can't cut everything he wants to, but starting with bringing home our military empire and auditing the Fed, the bank for all banks here in the US, is a good start.

While many Repubs are jumping on the Tea Party bandwagon, true Tea Party conservatives could not care less about the social issues. This is about less spending and less government.

Therefore, Rick Perry isn't really Tea Party (DOMA). Correct?

I agree with most of that. However don't count out Ron Paul, there are certain sectors of the media that are reporting on how mass media ignores him. Last night's Daily Show is flooding Facebook right now because of that. I read that the Daily Show Facebook fan page grew over 20k since last night. He cannot be ignored forever.

I'm not a tea party member, but I support all moral and family value laws implemented at the state(or below) level... as do many other tea party members. That is the basis of the 10th amendment. There isn't anything inconsistent about that.

He's been decribed as a "favorite of the Tea Party". He could be pro-choice for all I care. I just want a Capitalist in the White House, and government out of my life.

I don't know what DOMA means.

Great post. Unfortunately, most people here have no idea what the 10th amendment says.

Right now they are Googling "10th amendment" to prove me wrong.

Disappointing post. You were doing so well, riding the Ron Paul high... I guess the media blackout has dampened your mood.

takeover? Is that what it is? I feel like our gov't is being run by China, with a Kenyan Marxist at the helm.

If the Tea Party has taken it over, then somebody tap a keg.

The problem I see... Ron Paul is being shunned by the Republican Party. They see him as a wildcard that will do what he believes is right, even if it falls into something that the Democrats favor. He does not tow the Republican Party line and will not be an easily manipulated puppet like Bachmann or Palin.
Ron Paul's appeal crosses party lines to those people who haven't chosen political party sides and want what's best for America, not what's best for the Republican or Democratic parties. He NEEDs to become an Independent and get away from his political party taskmasters.

I'm talking about the neocons taking over the TEA Party, not the TEA Party taking over government.

Thanks for clarifying. Don't see it that way. These RINO lifetime politicians will get voted out too. They're just trying to use the Tea Party to advance their big spending agenda also. Just like the Dems use their minority groups advance theirs. We're all getting screwed by lifetime politicians.

Term limits, man. It's the only way.

    Did someone say keg?! :)

Oh, and this is about the 10th time I've seen you refer to Obama as a Kenyan Marxist. Care to explain why you think that? just curious.
