Yeah, he has like 500 solo albums out.....look here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckethead
Im not a GnR or a Buckethead fan really but I stumbled across his wiki page....damn thats a lot of albums. Anybody actually listened to all that shit? How can Buckethead or anyone remain vital and creative when theyve put out 32 solo albums??
To be fair, I havent listened to any of it so maybe i'm missing out. Just thought it was a massive amount of material for a solo artist to put out.

That is a lot. I've not really been into him.
I do know that a lot of jazz musicians put out albums pretty quickly. One a year was not unheard of. You are right though the manis prolific. I wonder if it is all good though...... :?Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -

That's not a bash on his stuff, he's a talented guy... but I don't think he's an everyday kind of flavor.7/2/06 - Denver, CO

Also, if you have seen Buckethead's discography and are impressed, you should look at Frank Zappa's.7/2/06 - Denver, CO

I personally think Buckethead is the most talented, versatile guitarist out there. And I havent even come close to listening to all of his solo stuff. Name a style of guitar instrumental, and hes most likely released songs and very likely full albums that fit in said genre. And he does all of them supremely well. Anyone who likes instrumental guitar work should definitely check him out if they havent already0

he can play the shit out of a guitarWe were but stones your light made us stars0

I just seen Buckethead in concert for the first time last week. I had heard his work on Chinese Democracy but never one of his solo albums. The show was completely awesome. This shit that guy does on the guitar is just insane and fun to watch. I honestly don't think I would ever buy any of his solo albums though but I'll go see him again next time he comes to town for sure. 2 hours of just strait guitar awesomeness.* Cincinnati, OH 8.20.2000 *

If you don't believe he is still creative, listen for yourself. I can tell you with 100% conviction that he still is - he just released a straight forward Banjo album for christs sake. Vital is very subjective. He's never been mainstream so Im not sure what you really mean . . .0 -

i just dont know how seriously i could take an artist if they released that much material. at some point it becomes overkill.0

Padmasana is a FANTASTIC song. Soothsayer off of Crime Slunk Scene is IMHO one of the finest guitar instrumentals I have ever heard.0 -
he's playing a free show (need admission to get in) at the new york state fair in syracuse next month. i look forward to checking him out there.
anyone who has seen him live...does he have a backing band? and how is he?Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.0 -

No backing band, it's just him on stage. There are other instruments that are just played over the PA, mostly just drums, but nobody else is on stage.* Cincinnati, OH 8.20.2000 *

A lot of his studio work uses drum tracks, so that's what he uses live. There are bass lines in some of his songs, but he normally records those for the studio albums as well so if they play those live what you are hearing is probably a recording of him.0 -

Both. Imagine that.0 -
But that list is just his solo albums. How much else has he played on. I know some of Chinese Democracy and didn't he do an album with Claypool, Bucket of Bernie Brains?0
