I always hated Warrant. Hated them. But you know what? I haven't heard that song Cherry Pie since, like, 1990 or 1992, whenever that first album came out. What was it? Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich? Think that was the title, anyway. But I STILL remember the chorus to that fucking song. I wouldn't wish the guy harm though. Poor fucker. Hope he went out partying with a smile.
My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.
Fuck that sucks. I love my 80's metal. I dont care if you dont like 80's metal. But in my opinion there are 2 songs in the world. A song you like and a song you dont like. Jani made music that people enjoyed. The same way PJ makes music that people enjoy.
R.I.P Jani
I'm not afriad to admit it, but i was (still am i guess) a big glam/hard rock/sleaze fan. and I loved warrant when i was younger, first 2-3 albums anyway. and seen warrant a couple of times in the uk supporting dave lee roth.
also met jani lane a couple of times, once in manchester, and he was cool. then once at the whisky a go-go in LA when i was on Holiday, he was a bit of a drunken ass then, but okay.
last i heard he was in the band again - out - in again, he had his problems,
I feel sad for his loss.

His parents must have been just a little nuts RIP John Kennedy Oswald
That is a tad questionable.
RIP Jani.

I was just a kid with a mullet in the 80's, but I was old enough to enjoy DRFSR and Cherry Pie (both on cassette)
And although his music may be viewed as a joke today, back when I was 10 it was really cool and will always have a small spot in my heart..
RIP sir, and thank you..
Ditto here.
My friend assures me that he and I saw Warrant together several years ago at an all-day fest at a local bar, but I do not remember it at all...I'm a stupid drunk at times but me thinks he's remembering wrong.
RIP Jani

An incredible song! I love all things hair metal (and I don't give a crap what you think about that!!) and this is a huge loss to the music community. My hubby and I danced to Warrant's Blind Faith as our first wedding dance! The guy was extremely talented, just couldn't get it together. I saw him solo 2 or 3 years ago and he sounded amazing.
RIP Jani.

he left the band twice and came back briefly in 2008. so you probably saw a different singer.

When I saw Warrant 5-6 years ago, Jaime St. James was the singer.

The interview/rant about "Cherry Pie" made for great TV.....the poor guy seemed to have numerous problems...it's sad that he could not resolve them in this world.

Uncle toms cabin... fine song
I think my favorite was Uncle Tom's Cabin. The intro guitars are great.
I discovered this band with this video.

I never liked them but they had a song or two that were really good. Uncle Tom's Cabin comes to mind.
Amazing how things turn around.
