On first listen, I am not really feeling this album. Not enough substance in the lyrics. But I like that they did not make it over the top pop/rap music (which I expected). Maybe it will grow on me after a few listens, but this does not compare to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

the lyrics in new day about their unborn sons are as deep and personal as it gets. why i love you is real deep too. i love every fucking song on this i think it's brilliant.

Its a little of both. Otis made the album and HAM didn't (but was included as a bonus track on the deluxe edition).

I think there are some deep parts but that they are outweighed by them bragging about their riches. I think most people won't really appreciate a lot of the album in these rough economic times. My gf's reaction to the new album: "I am sick of hearing how much money they have" lol.

Most of the reviews that I have read and heard so far have been negative. I'll probably still give it a listen or two though...

I discount all of those reviews. They came out too quickly after the album was released. No time to digest the material.
